This is the easiest and most understandable tutorial on making 6 braided challah
I loved the way you tell a story with the braid, "three's a crowd," "the one that's waiting" etc.! It made is SO much easier to follow. My bread looks great and I can't wait to bake and see the finished product.
I have been making challah for years but am totally dyslexic when it comes to the braiding. This is by far the easiest tutorial for braiding challah that I have ever seen. Thank you x
i just made two loaves of challah that look horrible but taste delicious! I tried this so many times that my dough was just about dry before I braided any way I could with 6 strands just to get it in the oven. I wish I had found this video before I tackled the 6-strand plaiting. Having it oriented from what I would see is far, far more helpful than watching and trying this when the camera is pointing at the person teaching and my view is upsidedown! Thank you!!
Best challah braiding video ever! Thank you
Your instructions are so clear that I think I can actually do a 6-strand braid. It helped a lot that you showed yourself braiding the whole loaf. That gave it time to sink in so I can probably do one without rewatching the video. Thank you!
Best Challah braiding demo ive seen..and with full 6 strands.. 👍
Best Challah braiding video on RUclips, I've seen many that make it more confusing than easy but your teaching style makes me want to try the 6 braids. Thanks so much for making this video for all of us bread bakers.
YOU'RE MY HERO! I wanted to make this for my mother but was lost. THANK YOU!!
This is the only video for 6 rope braided challah that I can follow! Thank you.
Thank you! :)
Such a beautiful work of art.
Finally, challah braiding makes sense to me!
The Hungarians make font kalacs for the holidays with raisins. I have always wanted to do a fancy braid like this. It came out perfect. Your instructions were very clear and helpful. My guests were very impressed. Thank you.
You're welcome Evelyn, I'm glad your braid came out nice and your family was impressed!
This is the best instructions on how to braid Challah bread. It is kind of rounded shape. Thanks
This is the best and easiest way that I have seen so far, thank you for sharing.
This is so helpful! Last time I made challah I tried the 6 strand and had no idea what I was doing. It turned out well but I was super confused. Dough is on the second rise now and I think it's going to go much better this time around!
Thank you! You made it so straightforward and simple! Every other video I've seen makes it look so complicated. You're a born teacher.
The best tutorial for braiding Challah I've seen so far
Thank you Elle :)
My friend and I used this video to make challah today for Rosh Hashanah-we had been having trouble with recipe instructions and this was so helpful! Thank you and l'shana tova
thank you so much, you have been the best teacher for the 6 braided challah. ❤
Thanks Jenine! :)
Completely agree.. this video was blessedly SO simple to follow and I really appreciate it!! Thank you!
Gracias, por fin encuentro un trenzado tan bien explicado 👌🥰🥰🥰🥰
OMGoodness THANK YOU. By far the best video. Just because you got the first 2 braids in doesn't mean you've got it down! This was exceedingly helpful. I just did my first 4 braid recently and now going to do a 6 for tomorrow :)
Ma'am, you need an award for this video! The absolute best, thanks!
Aww, thanks!
I completely agree!!! What made it even better was that it was short, right to the point, and NO music. Again, thank you!!!!
Beautiful!!easy teaching,Thank you
I'm trying to braid a six-strand gluten-free loaf tomorrow for an outside project. The gluten-free challah dough is a bit tough to work with, but this tutorial was really nicely explained. Will help with my braiding tomorrow--thanks much!
This actually made sense to me. I think it's more comprehensible than the four strand versions that I have seen.
great instruction on how to braid. my challah came out perfect!
Thank you. Finally I know how to do it :) You are a great teacher.
I followed that so much better than the cookbook I was following, thank you. Not being able to see the ends in the beginning did confuse me a bit at first but I got the hang of it quickly.
You are a good teacher and it makes sense - thank you and Shabbat Shalom.
Thank you, you're explanation and teaching style really helped me to finally understand this complicated challah braid. I'm so excited to try it out!
That was one of the best explanations I've seen. For anything. Ever
i see all of these whacky explanations on how to braid challah and you made it very comprehensive. almost too easy. thanks.
You're welcome!
Thank you very much for this video! Your demonstration is by far the best!
Thanks so much! I ACED my first try! To bad I can't share a picture your a magnificent teacher!

Amazing video! Thank you! Perfect pace for me to follow along with my braiding at the same time.
I’ve tried many videos and ended up with an ever expanding, six tentacled ‘Octopus!’ None are as easy to follow as this! Thank you.
Very nice clear instructions. Thank you 🙂
Great video, thank you!!
I can’t even braid my own hair but this looks simple enough to follow lol
I looking at this to practice on hair.😏

Very clear! Than you very much!! ♥️
You make it so easy to understand - your demonstration is much better than that provided by a well known flour company...
thank you so much. very helpful😊
You are welcom Laurelle.
Your video is the best!
Great teaching
Thank you from Jamaica. We have a bread that is done this way at Easter time, so it's good to know how it is done.
You're welcome Kay. I would love to know more about your Easter bread.
It's called hard dough bread which is basically a sturdy white bread and at Easter it's made more decoratively.. Also those of Sephardic Jewish ancestry make an plaited egg bread.
It sounds really interesting.
Kay Joy hotcrossbuns
@ahmed. Hot cross buns are English not Jamaican
Jamaicans don't eat those
thank you my beautiful lady you are so good we learn a lot from you. adel. maadi cairo egypt
You are welcome Adel. :)
Thank you, Yahweh Bless you
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Thanks so much for this video! I’ve made 3 strand braided bread for years and always wanted to try the 6 but could never figure out the sequence.
Thank you for sharing. Shabbat Shalom!
Excelent 👏
Very good 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Dzięki wielkie!
I literally just threw out a batch of dough because i was so mad trying to watch the other videos and braid my bread... then i found this.... making more lol
Why in the world would you throw out a batch of bread dough?
sue moore i know, right?
Great video! I keep facing the same problem every time, when I roll out my strands I get cracks in the middle and messes up every thing... How do I solve that?
Thank you, thank you. 🙏
Now I have to practice. 😉
I have to say your challah braid was helpfully beutiful! buy it think in order to let the doe properly rise, you should put it somewhere warm for only an hour, not over night lol
You are right, it can be done that way. However many people want the dough to ferment overnight to modify the gluten so they can digest it more easily. Long fermented sourdough is done for a reason.
Yep, I did the same thing yesterday. I tend to throw food out if it isn't perfect, particularly if I am making it for someone else.
just made my first 6 braid with this helpful video, thank you!
😊
Do you weigh each roll, if so, how much is each one weigh? Thank you.
I aint even a baker but now I can braid bread I guess
👍👍
Hopefully I can do thus on a pork belly lol
so the middle ones don't touch. thaks.
cannot see what you did on the first step....cut out of picture
Pinch the three strands togther at the top.
This is yet another one of those braiding videos that stops teaching and just says "now do more of the same" at the exact moment you need them to keep going with a few more repetitions. I watched it many times at 0.5x and I still got lost at the same place every time.
Whichever side you start from:2nd strand to the top, first strand to the middle. Then repeat going the other way.
Once n for all, let me tell y'a some big news. The pulla= is a kind of sweet bread that originates from where I live. We braid it like that. I wasn't too good at braiding my daughter's hair . Are you just simple or dumb? I experiment by myself.
I was doing so good until I got to the middle and all hell broke loose lol. My challah looks like it has been through a trauma now.

Way too fast for me, need to pause all the time and then lose where I was 😢
