    I loved the way you tell a story with the braid, "three's a crowd," "the one that's waiting" etc.! It made is SO much easier to follow. My bread looks great and I can't wait to bake and see the finished product.

    i just made two loaves of challah that look horrible but taste delicious! I tried this so many times that my dough was just about dry before I braided any way I could with 6 strands just to get it in the oven. I wish I had found this video before I tackled the 6-strand plaiting. Having it oriented from what I would see is far, far more helpful than watching and trying this when the camera is pointing at the person teaching and my view is upsidedown! Thank you!!

    Your instructions are so clear that I think I can actually do a 6-strand braid. It helped a lot that you showed yourself braiding the whole loaf. That gave it time to sink in so I can probably do one without rewatching the video. Thank you!

      It's called hard dough bread which is basically a sturdy white bread and at Easter it's made more decoratively.. Also those of Sephardic Jewish ancestry make an plaited egg bread.

    I have to say your challah braid was helpfully beutiful! buy it think in order to let the doe properly rise, you should put it somewhere warm for only an hour, not over night lol

    • @NorthwestSourdough
      @NorthwestSourdough  7 лет назад +4

      You are right, it can be done that way. However many people want the dough to ferment overnight to modify the gluten so they can digest it more easily. Long fermented sourdough is done for a reason.

    This is yet another one of those braiding videos that stops teaching and just says "now do more of the same" at the exact moment you need them to keep going with a few more repetitions. I watched it many times at 0.5x and I still got lost at the same place every time.
