Ubuntu is most used in my company but depends you can also choose centos, debian or other distros :)

Except WSL and Hyper-V, you should also have "Virtual Machine Platform" enabled in "Turn Windows Features on or off"

started learning devops, using wsl and aws ec2 at the moment to learn. should i go ahead and purge windows and install ubuntu or continue with wsl

This is a comment for those of us that installed WSL, actually installed a distro, used a couple commands and shutdown the powershell/terminal/command prompt, just type in wsl --install again and it will launch your distro.
It is really working as kali linux

We can use containers, but containers are short lived, WSL let you use Linux distributions anytime and it’s like a separate OS in your primary windows.

As soon as I turn on Virtual machine I experience weird video glitches and with WSL2 on the sound driver stops working at all. The weird and complicated explanations on the internet of what I need to do to fix that are confusing as Hell! Can somebody help me please?
Nobody in these videos ever tells you that you might not have sound working anymore. And the explanation for that is "Windows sound drivers are better, so why would you need Linux sound drivers" I kid you not!!! I can't even begin to unravel this confusing unhelpful message and how wrong it is on so many levels.
As frustrating those things are - the "fixes" for these issues that were never supposed to be there are even worse. I got dragged through various multiple step fixes that point me to different pages making me download different things with vague and confusing info like - go to this place and download this - I go there and there are 2 more links. One of the links sends me to an entire folder of files, the other one splits into 3 more links 2 of which have the same name as the thing I am supposed to download. And that's only on step 1. There are 5 more and after configuring them all I press launch and something happens in the background for a microsecond. That's all. No clear explanation of what the Hell is going on and why wouldn't I have sound in the first place and why is everyone acting like it has never been a problem. Sound! I need it to work with WSL. I am not deaf!

Hello Nasi, good day. I tested WSL but there's a bit of a problem, i used "sudo systemctl enable docker" it's not working hahaha, any thoughts?
Wsl has networking issues so better you set it up on virtual machine rather than docker 🐳
@@cloudchamp alright. I already come up with an alternative solution, i downloaded a Docker on Windows and there's a configuration there where you can activate the ubuntu there. But it its only applicable to WSL2. After that, there's no need to do the "systemctl enable docker". But more importantly, yeah you're right, virtual machine is better or much more better if I change my OS to Linux.

@@Tough_Mastermind you can use virtualbox and installing Ubuntu on it, you can allocate 4 gb of ram to windows and 4 to Ubuntu (change it accordingly) and you should be good to use Ubuntu.
Alternatively you can completely remove windows and just use Ubuntu, that’s what I did to my laptop
