I found a bunch of tutorials that directed me to install WSL from the terminal, others from the app store... None of them worked. Then I came across one that instructed me to disable features, delete the paging file... I almost thought about formatting, man! Later on, you install Ubuntu on your own from the Windows store. That was the solution. Thank you very much. I hate formatting my computer; it takes me weeks because I'm also a music producer. Greetings from Colombia.

Thanks! A point missing in the video is to check "Virtual Machine Platform" in the 'Turn Windows features on or off' setting (the MS link in the error wasn't very helpful but chatgpt helped me solve the problem).

I had been trying to fix errors for 3 hours and fixed just before finding ur vid. EXACTLY the same solution, even tho i fixed it myself ur tutorial is good.

mmm.... I just tested, it's not working on my Window11 home laptop. As i'm digging, WSL is required HyperV which is not provided to home version user. (or maybe there is the other work around? would be very helpful if there is.... mine just have "WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80370102" kept coming out...)

After I have successfully installed everything, at 12:33, when I type bash it gets "An error occurred mounting one of your file systems. Please run 'dmesg' for more details.", when I type dmesg, it gets "'dmesg' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

I got a question, and Im completely newbie,, So I installed Ubuntu for android custom rom building so when Im doing things, how can I access the files in the folder. How can I do that
is this gonna be the same as installing ubuntu as a stand-alone os? I'm developing embedded systems and I need linux to create boot image files however I'm not sure if I should format drive C and install ubuntu or this will be enough in my case!
