- Tropical Storm Debby dumped heavy rain on Sarasota and Manatee Counties as both areas tried to deal with high-water rescues, flooding, and road closures.
Anywhere near the creek is a FEMA flood zone for this reason. This was not a bad storm, but it just sat on top of Sarasota and dumped water, there was very little wind. Those new FEMA maps are very accurate. Many of the houses near the creek will have to be raised.
Prayers for Florida
Look dear people. This happens worldwide. One month ago all villages along the Danube river were flooded.
What streets in Pinecraft were flooded?
Will you reporters please say the cross streets when you show these videos?
Pinecraft is mostly an Amish and Mennonite retirement community. They know how to take care of their own. 😊
And it wasn't even record rain! The Sarasota area doubled in population in the last 20 years. New construction sites everywhere! Thousands of new homes and condos and businesses. Blame our Leaders, blame our Politicians! Changing farmland into residential! For the first time every, Bradenton Raceway and Dragstrip was flooded! Why? Because of new construction sites all around and Land Clearing for future sites! Start the Lawsuits!
Nadeen is smokin’
I don't understand how this happened. If Ian with a 20ft storm surge didn't flood that area, how could this 125 mile offshore Tropical Storm with a 4ft storm surge flood Venice?
+10" rain in 24 hrs
@@allanbardon146Yes, besides storm surges, hurricanes dump 6 months worth of rain in 1 days. & Citizen Home Insurance needs to raise your rates some more!
@@tringuyen7519, Citizens doesn't insure for flooding. You need a separate FEMA flood policy.
The eye of Ian came into south of Sarasota and the winds pushed water out unlike ft meyers. Storm rotates counterclockwise so it all depends on where the center makes landfall.
High tide slow moving storm the moon rapid rainfall in hours! Every storm is different I've been through Cat 2 hurricanes with less water or damage but tropical storm Debby hit my city with excessive rainfall in which I couldn't tell the road from the canal! Plus depending on the coordinates NESW Debby also came through the Gulf of Mexico including more factors you wouldn't understand unless you're a Meteorologist/Scientist
Crooked Creek in Sarasota went under. That is why folks are selling.
Need more developments.
If you live in Florida, then you’re in a flood zone
Bingo! 😂
My car flooded on Midwest Pkwy , and angels appeared as 5 young men pushed my car onto dry land ❤
Nah, bad move I would not have cancelled my flood insurance because you never know. Sometimes these people does tell you a lot of ish.
Welcome to Venice, Italy.
Now we know why Florida insurance rates are sky high.
if you can get it
We didn't need rescued... we needed a cheeseburger from McDonalds 😂 kayak door dash is fine😂
I really hope people did not leave pets behind 😡😡😡😡
No they threw em in the tree tops for the buzzards
My brother is in Venice and other family in Nakomis
2:52 dont listen to fed most of them not true 😐
1st to comment. How do I claim my prize?
Why are news people all so overly agreeable. I know this flood is real, but some shit you must not agree with, stop being a news reader. The inversion of this is so creepy. My observations always go there, otherwise you are sucked in to their story, you have your own story
We should definitely build more condos and parking lots because yeah..... we can still blame global warming right ?? Lol
😮 ...
wEF: "you will own NOTHING and be Happy """
folks in Florida really don't care had all the warnings in the world
Florida folks are not the brightest 😅
We have had many storms come by but haven’t had one do this. Can’t be fully prepared for something that is unpredictable and unprecedented. There was no warned evacuations either.
I'm in SC 5 mins from Folly Beach...I know wusup.. prepare folks
@@hood_TheJoker I’m in Sarasota. And lived near the Atlantic and now gulf all my life. Also know what’s up. This was a exception not the rule here unless we have a landfalling major hurricane. This was not either of those. Hope y’all stay dry. Looks to be stalling up that way.
@@TheRubiconRacer it seems it will stall out big time right where I live... I'm predicting at leapst 3 inches of rain in my basement.. at least we have a basement some folks don't have that luxury
Wait until the real one hits, you guys haven’t seen a real storm yet!
