A great priceless hobby though :) I am in college now, so that may be one of my main hobbies once I have more time. And I must do something related to mechatronics and control systems on my final year project next year. Thank you for the upload, it inspires new enthusiasts on this subject :)

And when you are an adult and have a job you can buy as much as you want instead of having to wait for birthdays etc :P If you want some more inspiration, search youtube for "mechbass" it uses stepper motors and arduino and reads midi files and is absolutely ridiculous. :D That was my inspiration to build a Lego guitar bot...

honestly it's not that long because all it's doing is the same motion over and over it's not like I human that hit multiple different Keys based on what they think should be pressed so technically it's actually one of the shortest because it was just the same Keys being pressed over and over. there was no variety to the keys there was no different sounds it was the same repetitive tune over and over and over.
Are you able to do this with just one Lego EV3 Mindstorms kit? Or does this require extra parts? If not, would you mind telling me which extra parts should be purchased?
Hi there, unfortunately there are many many more pieces than what's included in the EV3 set - it is powered by the EV3 brick and motors, but additional technic pieces are required... Plus this bot only plays this song and only fits this keyboard so it wouldn't be the best thing to re-create for someone else. If you want to try and create something similar, maybe more simple and play another tune, you should be able to do that with the EV3 kit only.
@@kqzo Ah ok, yep - any time you use someone else's music, RUclips picks up on it pretty much straight away. It's "monetised by the copyright owner" so hopefully that means the artist gets the revenue. I am a fan of hers, so I'm happy with that :)
I don't believe this is real. See at 1:00, the deepest tone. The lower finger presses the very lowest key several times. Despite the same key being pressed, the tune changes.
Hey Gumbo, you're right about that note - what you're hearing is 50% the sound coming from the keyboard and 50% backing track. Unfortunately this cheap little keyboard was one key short on the bass end of being able to play this song exactly as the artist does so I've had to just use the lowest key on the keyboard. From 0:59 she plays the lowest key on my keyboard twice then the next lowest key (which I don't have) 3 more times so I just had to hit the lowest key available 5 times. Nice to see you're paying attention!
That specific tone doesn't change at all, but the other ones do and you can clearly see that. If you listen closely the deepest tone is a lot deeper than the one that is changing.

A few servos, stepper motors, motors, an arduino kit (or a mindstorm lego heart/controller) and $400,00 spare in your pocket for the lego parts...lol
The whole thing is Lego - controlled by Lego Mindstorms. It can get expensive though - depends how much Lego you want!
