Hi, I dunno if anyone will see this, but I've got a question:
When I get to the last two 'tricky' parts, the open E string continues to ring as I play its octave (2nd fret, D string.) Am I supposed to let the open E ring out while I end up at it's octave (2nd fret, D string)?
Or, after I hit 3rd fret E string, do I need to mute the E string with a finger at the same time as I go up to its octave to start the lick all over?
I like the low growl it makes when I take my finger off the 3rd fret of the E string (the open E string plays) and hit the octave at the 2nd fret up on D string.
But if I try to mute the low E, the D string rings out more clearly without any sort of resonance between the two strings (since only the one string is playing.)
I think I explained this as clear as mud. Basically, this is when you do the 'pluck' thing on open A and 1st fret A string, then immediately hit the low E with the ring finger on the 3rd fret, then go back to the start of the lick.
If anyone was able to decipher my newbie guitar player post, can you recommend which way to play it?☺️😁👍🤘
Thanks for the enormous gift you gave us, Marty. By getting to this video (the 5th video in your "Blues" play list) I've recorded my practice tonight and when I played it back, it sounds a bit like I can play some music! Just a month or two ago, I was using my right hand to move my fretting fingers into position while learning my first chord (basically I was bad! Still am, but I sound musical when I'm bad... Big difference. 😁)
