I was just a little kid when I saw this storyline originally. Now I'm blown away years later by Julia Barr's and David Canary's phenomenal acting and the great writing!
They had all but run out of people to pair Ross with that wouldn't be problematic. Not that Brooke would've been issue free. Between the attraction to the wife of a father figure ( which we had already seen with Natalie) and Brooke's own history with rape it would be a bit awkward.
I've watched the past couple of clips several times and I can't figure out how or what made Adam think he could get away with this. Was it prideful arrogance? Even if he succeeded with the adoption it would have been a matter of time b4 Dixie either slipped up or Brooke would have found Dixie and Adam in an apartment having an affair. Brooke is not dumb. Adam knows Brooke isn't dumb.
Why didn't they show the actual confrontation when brook walks in on them and tells them both off. That was phenomonal acting for all of them and I was looking forward to seeing it.
Isn't it amazing how Brooke is linked to Cliff, Tom & Ross. She was one of Nina's Bridesmaids when she married Cliff in 1979, she was married to Tom and she was Ross's Aunt by Marriage. Cliff looked more mature and more assertive. Then Peter Bergman plays Jack Abbott #2 on Y & R.
It’s true .. they both lied to get what they wanted … funny how Brook couldn’t forgive Adam’s lies but she accepted forgiveness from everyone for her lies
Adam and Brooke never got over each other, the chemistry was always amazing!

Adam was borderline insane and thought he could get away with anything. This wasn't even as crazy as the stuff he did to Erica, Dixie and Gloria.
