I like chiming in with this piece of trivia, the new Mew designs were designed by Ikumi Mia who is the manga artist who designed the original versions. She wanted to update them and here we are ^^

@@xmaa9x Yep the other girls had some hair/eyes color change too but not as obvious as Ichigo with her dark red hair turning bright pink. In the manga she had pink hair in both forms and while the old anime made something different, I always found it added something unique to Ichigo, that and also the fact that it would be harder to recognize her that way ! But ye it didn't really make any sense, even with her name "strawberry", it was just pretty 😭😭 I'll miss that bubblegum pink hair
I'm so happy to see that people still care about this anime, after years. This was the first anime I have ever seen as a kid and I really liked it. I didn't even know what "anime" was at the time. 🍰🍓 I laughed and cried with them. 💖 I still come back to rewatch it and listen to the songs, and still enjoy watching it, just as much as the first time I saw it! one of the few remakes IMO that were able to capture the original's charm and update it through a new-age. I really love how the lightening doesn't look too washed up, and i feel like their animation style is very early 2000s In the best way! So far enjoying the dew episodes, really like the animation and dialogue! I don't see any weird or cheap animation sequences, the kid in me is very happy haha
I agree. It's not like Sailor Moon where the original was so beloved something like Crystal was never going to live up to it. This show doesn't have as big of an act to follows. I'm glad fans will have a faithful translation of this in America and the English word finally and I hope this could be a great starter for future generations of girls who become big anime fans.
@@leohino9211 Mint’s hairstyle is fine imo, but I don’t like the uniform design for Lettuce and Zakuro. Lettuce’s old swimsuit design really worked for her, and the bows on Zakuro make her look too girly.

I wasn't sure about the redesigned costumes when I first saw them, but seeing them in action in the OP and ED has won me over! I can't wait for the show to release ♥

The nostalgia hits hard… I never thought it needed a reboot of this, but boy, now that it’s out, I’m so freakin’ excited! Will it be better than the original? Most likely not, but I do really love it so far! (I know, there’s only one episode so far, but still!). A good reboot is as close as you could ever get to re-experiencing your favorite anime (show, movie, etc.) for the first time ❤️

BITCH! 😭😭😭😭 so glad that this little detail was added; it legitimately almost made me tear up. i also love the "omatase shimashita!". maybe that wasn't a direct reference to the amount of time between the old anime and the new, but it made me feel welcomed back home to cafe mew mew. this series is so precious and im SO excited to watch it unfold and flourish again.
