Natasel They Do look similar to the film however, the original Mary Poppins was filmed in 1964. The actor Matthew Garber who played Michael tragically died young in 1977 aged 21 from pancreatitis. Karen Doltrice who played Jane is now 63 years old.

Now having seen the full trailer, I think it is a crime that Kristen wasn’t cast in the sequel. In a short parody with probably minimal time to prepare, Kristen is giving me more Mary here than Emily. Imagine if Kristen had been given time resources to prepare. Ugh!!!

The argument that raising the minimum wage won't work because prices will just go up is an invalid one. Using that same argument logic, you can make the case that we ought to pay everyone much less and that will make prices go down- which we have also seen to be wrong.
If employees were paid less, you can be sure that companies would keep the profits for themselves. This is crystal clear since despite companies that have experienced increasing profits, the majority of them haven't passed on a portion of the profits to their lowest paid workers.
Companies are motivated to paid as low as they can get away with.
You really should consider small businesses when making those assumptions. Not everyone who owns a business is a fat cat. They struggle too.
James Campbell The cheap fat cats are the one's responsible for the increased visibility of low wages since they have resisted raising their wages despite increased revenues and profits.
What would help small business would be a graduated minimum wage scale that increased based on the companies income and profit levels. Perhaps the government could offer tax credits to subsidize the difference and reduce credits as the business grows.
The point is that corporations will replace workers with machines and cut unnecessary jobs. They will have to make the money back somewhere - and it will end up being a worse consequence
Oh really? Then why is everything these days made in China? Surely it can't be because they pay their employees less and therefore can sell products at lower prices to beat American companies even when factoring in the added costs of importing all the products?

Yes, just look at the wonders the minimum wage has had on unskilled or young workers. Take the low unemployment figures for people young black males for example. Oh wait...a high minimum wage makes hiring more expensive, so employers will only risk hiring people who already have experience and education...thereby discriminating against huge numbers of people who would be willing to work, but are inexperienced or poorly educated.

Wonderful! By the way.... economics: A $3 or $5 etc minimum wage increase ends up making no difference over time, and very quickly. Money is numbers. When the base wage goes up prices go up to match and so you end up with same result as before it. It's called inflation.
