I'm very impressed by his responsibility in the school. My child has been in dazhong primary school for six years and he has taken good care of her. He is a very approcable person. Wherever I see him at the entrance I feel that my child is safe in school. He is always very soft spoken and caring towards her. He would advise her to study hard just like telling to his own kids. He also can identify other kids very well. Knowing their names and class. Even the little ones from K1
The officer reminds me of our neighbourhood school Security officers who are dedicated to their duties. Thank you very much for keeping the children safe and condusive to study at 🙏🏽🙇🏻♀️ Wishing security officers' children study well too.
He is such a nice person . We can see him enjoying his job by greeting children every time. Thank you so much for your dedication and service Uncle🙏🙏🙏That’s the reason our children are safe .
This is very epic to me.. I'm Bukit Batok residence from 1987 till now 2023. I was in Dazhong primary school from 1988 until 1993. The layout and structure is different already. My time only 4 storey high with big Atap roof. The security area is just a big gate and very huge underutilised carpark. There was no security post at that time.
Because schools end majorly by 6pm. But i am sure this uncle is on the day shift. In the olden days, there used to be night guard but i think it is not needed nowadays.
@@tommyfield8449 My point exactly. The uncle mentioned he works 12 hour shifts. His experience is not isolated, security personnel in schools are working 6am to 6pm shifts, sometimes even earlier to open the gates. Im sure a 12 hour shift can be broken down into two shifts instead of having a single person man the entire shift.
@Akarat As someone who works in the security field; Lack of Manpower. Socially, we're still considered on the same level as cleaners. I once worked at Social Service Offices and I've overheard parents telling their kids to study hard or they would end up working like me. Besides, because of the longer ficed hours and somewhat regimental requirements, most of the younger generation would rather work as grab delivery drivers or riders. It is what it is. Without the influx of Manpower, the hours will remain as they are. But at least on average, we get more than days off a month as compared to 10 years ago.
This is how Singapore neglected all these jobs, the importance of security, cleaners which provide a healthy and safe environment , pest control that diseases from spreading whereas all the above protects life.
Probably, the most difficult part is to manage and control unreasonable parents. Btw, I was wondering whether he can do any martial arts like Judo to protect him from any physical threat...
C'mon MOE, you expect one guard to do all that work and still provide an adequate level of security, vigilance and surveillance in a school with hundreds of students, teachers, non-teaching staff and hundreds of square metres of built-up ground? And when the parents come during recess, or to send/fetch their kids? This is just a token level of security, right? Just ticking a box on a checklist, yes? Surely you have the budget to hire more guards to ensure that there are enough eyes to observe, and enough hands and feet to respond to an incident?
It's just one particular guard that they choose to feature for this video....of course every school is given a security budget, which they use to hire an entire security team.
It was not a budget, it was the tender that causes the guard salary to be low, this MA(s) bid for the lowest price while the school choose the lowest price. Anyway, the system for tendering is a big problem to solve, the government takes the lead to provide all the rest a bad example.
broadcasting the gentle and kind employees only. should dig deeper to see where the scum and source of stigmatisation comes from. or maybe that's the larger part of this industry.
When you do exactly the same like the above guard, they sone jobless Chinese old men will labell us as overfriendly. I think it's better to change job than to work as a guard.
Thank you for keeping our children and school safe.
Aiyo the kid who greeted him 'good morning, boss' so cute 😍
Those unreasonable or demanding parents are always a nuisance in schools.
I know right. they think they are some king or queens demanding this and that to their servants. unbelievable!

They better give this man a pay raise considering his contributions and his long working hours 💀
Security officers in Singapore deserve much higher wages. They are really underappreciated.

I'm in this school, and when I leave the school or enter the school, he is always very friendly and says hi, good morning or bye to us
The officer reminds me of our neighbourhood school Security officers who are dedicated to their duties. Thank you very much for keeping the children safe and condusive to study at 🙏🏽🙇🏻♀️ Wishing security officers' children study well too.

From a fellow Security Officer… Salut!
Enjoyed this very much. The interactions between Boss and kids are very heartwarming and cute!
I left school as a security officer cos it's just too much for me to have so many 'children'! I was overwhelmed!
Thank you Sir!
There needs to be more people like him & the lady who worked in a canteen ☺️
Need to give him a big rotan to ensure parents follow rules and regulations. Parents are very unruly and naughty these days.

Uncle you are spiritually good man
Why are we making security officers do 12 hour shifts? I'm sure it can be broken down into 6/7 hour shifts
Because schools end majorly by 6pm.
But i am sure this uncle is on the day shift. In the olden days, there used to be night guard but i think it is not needed nowadays.

I think they do have few
But this hardworking staff is highlighted

At 3:49 you can see the second security guard at work with him.
