In the off chance that you see this comment, I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been having a hard time lately and all of your recent videos have been a really healthy form of escapism for me. I just wanted to thank you for that 💕
What a sweet comment. Just know that a complete stranger is now wishing you well and hoping whatever is making your life hard right now passes swiftly. ❤
I remember when I had the naked palette way back in the day, everyone was getting the high shine by applying the shimmers wet! Like we'd get it on a flat dense brush and then spray the brush with Mac fix plus or something similar and the eyeshadow became extremely shiny. I totally forgot we ever did that. Memory unlocked!
I had the Naked palettes years ago. They discontinued it and I panned mine. The circle of life from the Lion King played in the background when I had to finally throw it out. When they resurrected it I immediately bought and I love it just as much. It’s still such a great workhorse palette. Admittedly the timing was perfect. I had just completely decluttered all my makeup and had 0 palettes left. Only a couple potted singles from Phytosurgence. So it came at a time when I had an actual gap in my makeup collection. I was also surprised by how glad I was to have it back.
For someone who will probably never buy any of these products, I still feel that the last 40 minutes were well spent. Always enjoy listening to you talk, Hannah!
I have had so many "Oh no Hannah!" moments with blush over the years. It took so long for me to actually wear any at all because it often looks so bright and clown-like against my skin. I really appreciate you showing us what works on fair skin.
To piggy back on someone's else comments, I too am going through a rough time. Thank you, Hannah for the uploads! It really does help me escape from all the bad things I'm going through lately. Safe to say, I'm all caught up. Hannah, I looooove this haircut on you, it looks so CHIC.
Hannah, you look absolutely beautiful with just your base and lip on -- before the eyeshadow or anything on the eyes. The slightly more intense blush compared to your usual very light application gives so much energy and freshness. I just love it!
For everyone having a hard time, my wish is that grace finds you and you are able to relax into its embrace. We will get though this. We have a 100% track record of surviving hard times. ♥️
Loved this episode, Hannah! Also, I ordered your book tonight, and I giggled when Amazon told me, “People who buy this book also purchase…Nivea blackberry lip balm, exa green color corrector, Burt’s bees red dahlia…” I can’t wait to read Julia Hungry. I’d like to bathe in it, really. And maybe wear Red Dahlia while doing so! ❤
i also need to echo another commenter in telling you things have been really rough lately but in the last few days i’ve been catching up on your videos and it’s been a massive comfort, thank you 🩷
I still have original Naked palette & it still performs well. It was my first large palette & I love that the formula is buildable & easy to use. I gave it to my daughters to share but recently reclaimed it from their bathroom drawer. The colour naked is the best neutral crease shade for fair skin. I believe the latest edition of that same colour is somewhat warmer.
I owned the original-original Naked palette (the version that came with a double-ended Zero/Whiskey eyeliner instead of the double-ended brush) back in the first half of the 2010s, and the outside packaging was indeed a velvet texture. My faves in that were Darkhorse, Smog, Toasted, and Naked. Sidecar was a beautiful colour, but I remember it having a lot of fallout back then. Occasionally I'd use either Virgin or Sin as a cheek highlight. I thought Hustle was pretty in the pan but didn't apply as well as its spiritual successor in the Naked 2 palette (the shade name escapes me) did. I'd love to have some neutral(ish) brown shimmers back in my life but have no need for this full palette.
I absolutely love the original Naked palette and use it on a regular basis. Mine is probably 15 years old, but it is clean, doesn't smell bad and the shadow perform beautifully. Yes Hannah it always had the fuzzy cover. As a matter of fact I used the shade Half Baked today on my mobile lid. I have the RMS shade in the color EVE and I was curious about the shade Naomi. However, you are right about the fact that the 3 lighter shades are almost the same as are the 3 darker shades. Now that I see it on you I won't buy Naomi because it's basically the same as Eve. The concealer's look very nice, especially the Armani one. I love the haircut!!!
I started mixing 2 foundations, the bb purito for greyness, my green colour corrector, a shimmery product and a soap bubble effect product to make my own foundation with the undertone, formula and coverage i want and it's the first time I've been feeling confident about my base. Naturally i started using a danessa myricks liquid blush with other products and lately with a soap bubble effect product and it's transformed it from a messy product (too pigmented, dries down quickly) to my perfect blush product. More muted, hydrating, greyer, lighter, desaturated... And i don't feel tempted to try a satin liquid blush to the point where I'm contemplating a danessa order including another one or two of these blushes instead of anything else!
I've never had the original naked palette but I've had the naked 3 since 2017 and it matches the way you described the formula. I still use it because it's good. It's a decent amount of pigment and it blends out easily. But it's not so highly pigmented that you have to be really careful applying it. I feel like the late 2010s everyone got obsessed with super high pigment and high impact but to me at least, that doesn't necessarily make better eyeshadow.
Like others, this week has been super stressful (aging parents with mental health issues in need) so your video is like a balm. How pleasant to focus my mind on pretty things and your tart wit. Cheers to you!
I’m almost done reading A Deadly Education and wanted to thank you for the recommendation. Such a fun read and so excited for the next book! Getting back to it as soon as I finish this lovely video, your videos are so calming ❤
Thank you for not 💩on the Naked palette, which seems to have been the trend amongst Beauty RUclipsrs. I bought this relaunch and like you had never owned the original. I am really enjoying using it for the same reasons you describe - it’s versatile, it’s unfussy, it looks great and it’s dependable. I’m proud to have her in my stable.
I found the same issue, shade 2 is lightest in the Armani. I only realized this because shade 2 was the lightest available on the sample card and I was surprised it worked on me. I am a cool light, very light actually fair. I assumed shade 1.5 would be best, but it didn’t look lighter than the 2 shade. Shade 2 is me. Thank you for telling everyone!
I feel like the the naked palettes in general fit you current style of makeup a lot. The hair being slightly missy is giving your old “ I like my hair to look the a bad wig” and I am living for it
A few days after your lip balm finale, my mom was using the Burt’s bees balm in red dahlia and I told her about you video and promptly went out and bought it 😂 thank you to you and my mom for influencing me, it’s a wonderful balm!
I'm so excited that you like this. I hoped you would review it and give it a shot. I also thought you might still hate it because you haven't been a Naked fan. I have been more into neutrals as well lately, and something in me has been so interested in what the everyday makeup wearer is using. It says something that Urban Decay is able to stay standing on their own 2 feet when social media has not been in their corner so much lately. I went in and swatched the palette before I bought it about 2 weeks later. Sidecar really is gorgeous, and it is the main reason I bought the palette. I also enjoy half-baked, smog, and sin as well. I do think these eyeshadows apply easily, but I do think they need a primer. They wear away pretty quickly without a primer. P.S. The brush is actually good.
I still have and use the original Naked palette 😂 it has held up perfectly and I haven’t run out of any colors. Only use shadow for special occasions though
I would LOOOOVE to see your review of mob beauty! They have quite a lot of grungy shades and I am curious what you would think of the formula but also how the shades would work for you! ❤
As someone whose skin seems to be about the same depth and saturation as yours, but whose undertones lean very pink and cool, Luminous Silk concealer in 3.75 is about the same depth as 2, just with a much cooler undertone. The foundation shares a lot of the good qualities as well in terms of being amazingly skin-like, having a flattering satin finish, and being more graceful over my usually dry skin, but it also is half a shade to a shade deeper than the corresponding concealer. Since the concealer is in no way too light for me to begin with, I just wore the concealer all over my face on my wedding day. It held up great!
Can you share about your experience with fine lines and complexion products, especially with longer wear? I’m 36 and the older I get the more I hate wearing concealer and foundation because of what it does under my eyes. Would love some content around that!
I told you I love and still use Naked in the last video where you mentioned it. I'm so proud of myself now that you liked it 😂 It's so funny I have used your videos as inspiration for so many years when this is literally the ONLY eyeshadow palette I have owned for 10 years. I would absolutely be the target to purchase this in the relaunch except I am still using the OG. I still love the brush too! I'm just going to add while I'm at it that it also held such a majestic place in my mind as the expensive makeup cool girls wear. My brother actually got it for me for Christmas (huge thank you to the Sephora employee who told him what to buy). It has probably been the only gift in adulthood to make me squeal like a child. The rerelease fanfare is totally hilarious and silly, BUT if anything deserves it, it would be this piece of makeup.
I literally just (as in last week) threw away my original Naked palette because I had a weird nostalgic attachment to it. Time to get the new one! I remember how much I adored it back in the day.
I used to own the original naked palette. Got it on major sale right before it was discontinued. I liked the colors a lot. I didn’t mind the lack of mattes back then (I probably would now). I had to give it away though because (PSA) something in that formula irritated the skin of my eyelids like nothing else. Red. Swollen. Itchy. Would develop about 15 minutes after applying pretty much every time. Wound up giving it to my sister. warned her but I have very sensitive skin and eyes and she doesn’t, it was fine. She loved it. Pretty sure she still has/uses it. Lol Anyway, buyer beware. If you have sensitive skin/eyes, maybe think twice.
@@yensid4294 I’ve never tried ABH shadows but eye primers tend to be a no-go for me too. Red, swollen, itchy, watery, mess. Haven’t tried very many so maybe there’s a random one that works but I’m not committed enough to find out. Lol
The timing of the re-release OG Naked palette is pretty good. People are wanting true to cool leaning neutrals & simpler more subdued one & done eye looks. Not everyone wants orange/pink warm neutrals/nudes & tons of glitter in their shimmers. For the liquid blushes if you get the basic color & undertone you want (even if if it's too deep or bright) you can always tone them down by using a serum color corrector/concealer as a mixer. Or even your foundation. Or a liquid bronzer. Liquid products are versatile & customizable in that way. I almost always have to mix or layer blushes since they are either too tangerine orange or too blue of a pink most of the time.
I still have my original from 2010, I got it while I was in esthetics school! I haven’t used it in years, but I’m inclined to try it again. Praying I don’t get an eye infection 😂
I bought a makeup sanitizer spray from Beautylish recently and it’s been nice to have on hand to go through my older powder products and cut down on risk of contamination.
you know Hannah's one of your favourite RUclipsrs when you postpone watching her videos so you can watch them while you eat because it's just prime entertainment
Hannah, IMO this is a very sophisticated look on you ~ the darker shadow makes your eyes pop, the lip color is a great neutral for you (though I know you prefer lighter for day look) and I think ~ at least on my monitor ~ the cheek color is great. The Armani concealer is tempting to order now I see how it appears to make your complexion flawless ~ but maybe, as you say, it's the Ilia. Anyway, the overall look is handsome even if you prefer a no-makeup look.
Always a great day when there is a new HLP video! We are very nearly skin twins and I’ve been using the GA concealer in 2 for a while now! Can’t believe I haven’t mentioned it to you. I do notice almost a pearl running through it very subtly. I have the frosted glass with nothing printed on it!
After watching this yesterday, I woke up this morning yearning for the Naked palette. But I recently decided my small but mighty palette collection is literally perfect. So I reached for my Naked Reloaded palette instead and found a shade I’ve never rly connected with that is giving exactly the vibes for which I was yearning. Honestly thank you for helping me build the tools I need to curb my tendency towards over consumption, but also to continue to find joy in the beautiful things I already have 🥹🙏
Thank you for the encouragement to register to vote. I recently moved and your reminders really inspired me to do what I had to do to get registered. Thank you!
"naked paralegal" 😂😂😂😂 made me chuckle so much because I remember a previous video where you threw top quality shade at Urban Decay for other naked palettes. Gosh, what video was that from? The editing was also S tier because of the visual jokes thrown in.
I got the Naked palette when it first came out but I never liked the formula and although I kept it for years, I hardly ever used it. I eventually threw it out. I do not miss it and I do not intend to repurchase it.
I still have and use my old naked palette. People on RUclips complain about it because it's not creamy and metallic but they forget that most of us are doing makeup for work or school and this is really wearable. It also doesn't carry the outrageous price tag that palettes have these days. It should not be considered normal to pay Natasha Denona prices.
OK, you are the only person I’ve heard say that the Naked palette is an updated formula. I didn’t get it because I thought it was the actual original formula. In fact, everyone was complaining that why would they relaunch it whenever formulas have changed so much in the past 15 years. Thank you for clarifying!❤ It might have the honor of being my birthday present for myself!🎉
I’ve heard most people say the pigmentation was worse than the original… and that generally the shimmer swatches haven’t held a candle to the original. Looking forward to Hannah’s review!!!
@@zahraonokevbagbe2725 best wishes on your decision! I was able to get the palette at Ulta already. I caught a sale and used points, so I got it at a nice discount. Love it! I enjoy all types of eyeshadow formulas from indie to luxury, but I definitely enjoy having something I can just throw on and know that I don’t have to be careful. I also didn’t get this one at first because I can’t wear anything remotely orange, and when Hannah said it was cool toned that was another thing that tipped the scales. Thanks Hannah!
I started doubting my whole life and had to go look for my Armani concealer when you said the numbers, cause mine is the 3.5 power fabric and it's quite light. For a second there I thought you got sent straight up white 😂 thanks for the explanation, it makes more sense that it was like that
Buck from urban decay is my ride or die one and done eye shadow. Bought it as a single. It is in the original palette too. Have to say that UD eye pencils are the win for me
I kinda miss the Naked2 palette. That shit was my jam back in 2013 ish! I do miss it. I LOVE YOUR HAIR IN THIS VIDEO! Also the “oh Hannah” at the red blush was so relatable haha. Me when my winged liner becomes super huge at 7 am when I’m still half asleep 🤣🤣
Ooooh, when you’d done your complexion only and then put the lip on with nothing else - loved. With the hair. You looked so beautiful! Totally unrelated - a long time ago you did an undies version of your recent lip balm hero’s journey. It was very comprehensive. I wondered if, after baby and body changes, you’ve edited your criteria for underthings. It’s never talked about (except for the relentless bra ads), yet it’s a critical part of our wardrobe. Maybe even socks, too, as essentials in cold-weather climates inside shoes and boots. 🩲👙🧦
My everyday base for months has been the Armani concealer in shades 5.75 and 4. They are perfect and it looked beautiful on you. And, I STILL have the original Naked palette! I don’t use it anymore, but I still got it!😊
Yes, the naked palate was fuzzy originally. I have so much yellow in my skin that the colors just seemed to look dirty and muddy on me. I was so excited to get this palate back in the day but never loved the results because of this. Undertones in the skin do not lie!
In the off chance that you see this comment, I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been having a hard time lately and all of your recent videos have been a really healthy form of escapism for me. I just wanted to thank you for that 💕

I still have original Naked palette & it still performs well. It was my first large palette & I love that the formula is buildable & easy to use. I would low-key love to watch you play with the new Naked palette some more lol. Especially with smog, love that color.
You look so beautiful! The complexion products, the lavendery cheeks, lips, and naked paletted eyes are all great.
The concealer looks wonderful and the lip color is fabulous on you! Makes your eyes look meltingly brown. Very pretty!

Thank you!
I remember the *original* original Naked palette came with a mini Primer Potion and an eyeliner!!
"naked paralegal" 😂😂😂😂 made me chuckle so much because I remember a previous video where you threw top quality shade at Urban Decay for other naked palettes. Gosh, what video was that from? The editing was also S tier because of the visual jokes thrown in.
Girl. Your hair. So fresh.
Thank you for your honest reviews❤
I got the Naked palette when it first came out but I never liked the formula and although I kept it for years, I hardly ever used it. I eventually threw it out. I do not miss it and I do not intend to repurchase it.
Loved the “from the ground up” summary!
Love this final look on you and the reminder to stay hopeful ❤
love these trying makeup videos.
I just wanted to say I love your hair!! It looks so good!
Thank you Hannah 🩷
Joe - this editing was so fun! ❤
The best Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palette HANDS-DOWN was the Born to Run 😎✌🏻💜
I'm still panning my original Naked palette. :) Love your hair! Thank you for all the good info.
The Armani concealer looks great on you.
You made a lot of good points about the Urban Decay palette
I like the glass skin veil mist on bare skin in the morning before any makeup. Try it that way
Smog in the Naked Palette 😍
It's absolutely the best one
Your hair is giving Kiki's Delivery service and Satsuki from Totoro and I love it.
Love your new hair Hannah and the eye look is awesome!
I love your new hair! So chic and youthful ❤
I love the look with the dewy skin and the lipstick, before you did blush or eyes
That Naked puppy is sold out. I don’t think it is a scheme. People love it.
For a second there I thought you got sent straight up white 😂 thanks for the explanation, it makes more sense that it was like that
Hannah I’m obsessed you look like Monica Belluci when you put the mauve blush on.
There’s a possible old gum shade in the reformulated MAC glow play blushes you might like called “True Harmony”. I hope to give it a try this fall.
Naked ASMR sounds like a very different channel, lmao
Not a Naked Palette fan, but I definitely enjoy all the uploads lately 💛
Ha. And then I watched 10 seconds u say this gorgeous look is where you’d like to be done. Yup. But glad you’re not for the video’s sake.
My everyday base for months has been the Armani concealer in shades 5.75 and 4. They are perfect and it looked beautiful on you. And, I STILL have the original Naked palette! I don’t use it anymore, but I still got it!😊
With the hair and the full makeup you remind me of Mary from Downton abbey ❤ obsessed ❤
This was the first makeup pallet I ever owned! Ah, nostalgia. ❤
i’ve been waiting for this one!
Yes, the naked palate was fuzzy originally. I have so much yellow in my skin that the colors just seemed to look dirty and muddy on me. I was so excited to get this palate back in the day but never loved the results because of this. Undertones in the skin do not lie!
