Pradeep Bansal considered the five capsules he was about to swallow. Together they made up a 25 milligram dose of a substance that, in another setting, could have landed him in federal prison.
The substance was psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms. He was taking it as part of an FDA-approved clinical study on mental health therapy for people with cancer. Bansal, a New York gastroenterologist, was far more comfortable giving medical treatment than receiving it. But he was getting used to it. He had already been through surgery and a number of other treatments to address the physical aspects of his cancer. The psilocybin was to address the mental aspects -- the crushing anxiety and depression that had stuck with him after his diagnosis.
So what happened next? And did it work?
I have been depressed for a long time, but after taking shrooms few months ago, l feel much happier and highly motivated and my ADHD gone , lost a ton of anxiousness and had a few epiphanies about how I should live my life. I decided to buy an ounce for backup, but haven’t yet felt the need to take any more since then.
I have autism, I was diagnosed with it when I was 15. I tried shrooms and it made me function so much better.

Psychedelic’s definitely have potential to deal with mental health symptoms like anxiety and depression, I would like to try them again but it’s just so hard to source here
I've been microdosing on the batch of mushrooms I got from one guy online for the last few months for depression and the results have been immeasurable. The world has beauty again whereas before it was grey and painful.

Psychedelic is the answer to most severe anxiety and depression...The use of magic mushrooms completely helps one get over depression and makes you feel like yourself...I used antidepressants for some years but it only made me feel like a zombie but with immediate use of mushroom 🍄 in few months I feel like I'm living a whole new Life.

"Modern medicine" has an entire industry behind it.. when the companies responsible for funding research are the same profiting from chemically produced drugs, its expected natural ones will be kept away from the public for as long as possible...

Resonated with my experience of being diagnosed with Cancer...& what I experienced as I Meditated( to make sense & cope with All of it.....from the Diagnosis, Treatments like chemo, radiotherapy, surgery & the Prognosis....the devastating impact emotionally, psychologically, physically, socially....it is honestly eerily similar to what Dr Pradeep has shared of his experience with Psilocybin

I really enjoyed listening to your experience. I am glad the mushrooms helped. I too fought cancer and it was a scary battle. Now, i work in skid row, and i face scary situations everyday. I find strobotropic brain entrainment gives me a psychedelic experience simialr to yours, and it does help ease my fears. Glad youre well!

I wish I could do this but I'm really afraid. When I was in my 20s, I had a terrifying acid trip into madness which changed me ever since. I'm now in my 40s and I'm still that scared boy wanting to be free from this mental prison. I've heard a lot of good comes from these sessions.
Not very nice to see hardcore marketing on a comment of such gravitas. Ask a therapist maybe about what you could do. Get help from wherever. I am sure anyone who knows better would be happy to help.

I had a bad LSD trip (my 4th) in 1988 or so, in my early 20's. I never tried it again. I dabbled a couple of times in mushrooms, that may find in 2012. I have been clean and sober since July 2013.
Today I did my first MDMA/psilocybin therapeutic journey under the direction of a therapist. I am tired now and will need some time to process everything I saw.

I have been diagnosed with Dysthymia and ADHD and Social Anxietv. I get mad all the time for no reason and I lack social skills because of the anxiety and I'm actually switching schools because there is a school (I recommend you check it out) it's called PACE and it's an all girls school for people who have mental health issues which cause them to make bad decisions or get bad grades or even if you just need counseling along with school. Every student at PACE has their own counselor to make sure you follow your goals.

You lose your grasp of time. Trying to sleep isn't viable so your only choice is to go with it. During the first time, you panic thinking it's perpetual, but every time you look at the time, and it's been 3 hours, then 4, then 5, and finally, it's over.
Okay, well, I guess its going to be tested in a trial large enough to get approved. (In England). The headline's of the articles that I saw were talking about King's College London. We will see if when tested on a large amount of diverse people, if it's effective. So, I guess many people with treatment resistant depression and PTSD will choose to be in the trial/trials.

Do you know if the any of the neurodivergent brain types, would be damaged by the treatment?
I read that people with aphantasia have weaker connections between their visual network and regions of the brain linked to decision-making. I have multisensory aphantasia, and a lot more autistic traits than average. Asperger Test Site Says I have asperger's but that is not a recognized condition in the USA, anymore. When I was young I used to act like a lot of the way autism is described online, but not now. I'm not sure if I have severely deficient autobiographical memory (sdam), substantial, but not extreme, like what I read. I remember things from the past, but only in words. I don't 'see' memories in my head, as if I was there.
I hope it will go well and aproved by fda and go into guidelines. I really dont want to have tardive dyskinesia
