Wanting a pay rise whilst at the same time providing both the most expensive and unreliable service in Western Europe
Drivers on an average £60k.
Twice as much as a nurse, their demands are disgusting and greedy.
Sack them all, there are countless people who would do that job for less.
If they can afford to keep going on strike then they are being paid to much?
It's the sacrifice they're making for all of us. How else will we be safe?
Get on with the job, and stop bringing Britain down.
My heart bleeds for these poor drivers on £60k+
of course, how can they possibly afford to eat on 60k a year?
@jamesdawson2510 Stop parroting propaganda!!!
Finally someone who can see past the bs.
They're just greedy looking to get even more money than what they deserve
@@IlikeTrainsguy100Just fighting for decent pay and conditions nothing more.
@@stephenjon3502 They've already got more than decent pay, they get 60k!!
And the conditions aren't that bad. The conditions are vile for passengers and the train companies are a joke but the staff are incredibly greedy and the pay & conditions are nowhere near as bad as they're crying about.
@@stephenjon3502there's a guy that stays not far from me is a train driver, he gets a company car...for early starts if he isn't working local...the car never moves. His family get free rail travel and lives in one of if not the most expensive streets in the area.
Rail fares go up every year to pay for free travel for railway family members?
No drivers, no ticket offices. Where are the profits going ....?
This comment...............no clue........
@sandrafitzsimmons7245 How many times does this have to be explained to folk, go away and listen to Mick Lynch!!!!
Funding the pensions of retired railway staff no doubt.

I think they are greedy how many people gets £63,000 per year. Have some consideration for the nurses and doctors.
They are fighting for the nurses and doctors and care workers as well. They are fighting for all of us
'we have no choice' waaa.
In other words 'I'm greedy and feel entitled to more than I deserve and will ruin everybody's day to get it'
Hope they get sacked.
No they keep us safe.
I enjoy travelling knowing we have good rail staff.
Pay peanuts we'll end up with monkeys and deadly crashes
@@RunPJswhich is pretty much what happened in the early 2000s i.e Potters Bar, M62 crash. Just stories on news until it’s one of your relatives corpses been pulled out a wrench. Some people even lost several relatives in these rail accidents.
@@maxpowerii7368erm, the M62 crash had nothing to do with the railway, it was a car driver that fell asleep.
@@Bungle-UK barriers along motorway section adjoining rail lines were found to be lacking in the resulting court cases among other issues.
@@maxpowerii7368 so, a deficiency in the road infrastructure. Either way, nothing to do with train drivers which is the theme of this thread.

Every worker should have inflation-matching "rise".
The TfL union workers a so lazy I know agency workers that have worked along side them and they just shuffle about doing the bear minimum
How does a train driver just “ shuffle about” ?
look at the pay grades of railway workers and tell me if they are poorly paid.
Railway is what they want for future way of travel, after banning private cars and reduce aeroplanes.
for entry level roles like station guards, low level technicians, cleaners etc yes they are poorly paid. With state of inflation even £30k a year would not stretch that far once living costs are paid out.
And majority of railway workers are entry level. Just like any other industry not everyone is qualified and capable to do the small amount of niche skilled technical roles like driving. Train driver health requirements are fairly strict for example and stuff like depression, seizures, epilepsy, sleep disorders would instantly disqualify many.
Has anyone heard the phase digging your own grave? The railway system will just collapse, then no one will have a job.
Driverless trains all the way!! Machines can't go on strike
I support all kinds of strike but not rail. The service is horrible. The staff at station doesn't care their customers and most of time pretty rude. They don't deserve any pay rising.
The drivers don’t give a toss about leaving vulnerable people like OAP’s stranded because the trains aren’t running. Train drivers are already well above the average uk salary so put the violins away and get on with it. It’s getting boring now.
Oh no, I will have to work at home again.
It’s time for a new government in Britain.
@williamshaw5388 No it's time for a new system, a different government will achieve nothing.
@@boota1979ideally both.
Why is it buses are not on strike it's been going on for months this rail dispute train drivers are on good money all rail workers should except the pay deal
Its politics not pay
@@T5Zplayerabsolutely. Tories thought soulless scripted media bites would really rout the workers and their elected representatives in the trade unions. They haven’t even had the guts to defend their own shameful handling of COVID era dodgy loans so it’s impossible for them to put a credible counterargument to unions who have rapidly won public support and confidence for honest and passionate defence of struggling workers.
Britain need a Margaret Thecher again .
I agree Thatcher would sort it out she would sack some of the strikers
She started the mass immigration 😏
@@katokaoula4872 Thats a new one, any evidence?
@moonshah5506 What to finally turn the country into a complete banana republic.
@@boota1979 Anything intelligent to offer though?
Can't get us from A to B on time & that's when the train turns up! They're totally out of touch with public opinion. For the service we get they're overpaid, plenty immigrant labour in the country would happily do their jobs for less.
Scrap the whole tube service
Whoever said that railway workers were entitled to a middle-class lifestyle??!!
£60k a year is middle class? Most people in the UK get by on around £18k a year.
@@imagecollections6665railway workers don’t earn £60k a year. Experienced and highly skilled train drivers in a safety critical role and working fair amount of overtime hours away from home may earn something like that.
most railway workers earn a little above minimum wage i.e close to the figure your quoting.
@@maxpowerii7368 and those people sit in ticket offices having a brew and talking to their mates, every now and again pushing a "print ticket" button.
Ye what a joke use public transport , digbeth city centre with them charging us money to drive our cars up it, then there rip off parking, what’s the bloody world coming to, and them rail strikers crying like babies bout there wages, oh there so hard done by, what’s next mental health wagon, what a joke, 😂😂😂👍
I support them 100%.. yet again another private company treating the workers and customers with contempt! .. low wages .. shutting the ticket offices ..and the weak government lining thier pockets !
Low wages? Most train drivers are on around £60k
@@Bungle-UKTrain drivers don’t work in ticket offices do they? Cleaners, station staff, track workers etc are facing huge job cuts. Take the gaslighting out of your comment and then take a proper look at why the strike actions taking place.
@@stephenjon3502 its a video about an ASLEF strike, the drivers union. Nice pivot but this is about drivers.
@@Bungle-UKmost train drivers work very long & rough hours, poor working conditions loud noises. Hourly they’re probably only making £20-30 instead of a decent salary.
Here In the USA the average train operator earns about $41/hr
