The road is smooth during winter - otherworldly beauty with sunlight hitting ice crystals in the air. 1st gear when necessary and stay off your brakes. It tends to look a lot easier in the video!

well said John- we found it challenging but better than we had feared. Definitely took our time. I assume you've done it many times. We were happy to arrive at the bottom safely. thanks for your comments.

Yes i have been on that road. Very interesting. Especially the switchback part with the wash board on the turns. And if a semi comes your the one that has to pull out to the side where the dropoff is. Its a beautiful rugged place. Grizzlies, forest bed so heavy with needles from the trees that its like walking on carpet. And clayton falls.

It is a very beautiful area but not without its dangers. We loved it.

On of my scariest rides was going down the Hill in the winter with sections of glare ice. We had a medical emergency that required a trip out from Charlotte Lake to the hospital in Bella Cola - a terrifying 6 hour ordeal . There are reasons The Hill is always said with capital letters lol

wow Bonnie- that would have been a terrible trip. I can't imagine doing it in winter at all!! We were anxious about it in the best of circumstances.

Wow, that’s quite a drop off. Nothing like that here in Oklahoma.
