This is fantastic!!! Tried to put all my energy in trying to rotate it and do a bunch of other things but gonna give this a shot tomorrow morning :) You rock!
Amazing! Thank you so much, my positive terminal has lots of corrosion on it, and I was going to clean it, but I couldnt get the positive terminal off. I will try this method to get it unstuck, wish me luck!
That was excellent information Peter! There was a lot of corrosion in plus cable. All that corrosion can be removed carefully with Dremel Multitool or with just a small piece of sandpaper!
No homo I love you. I feel like my dad has never cleaned the car battery and today it took me an hour to clean off all the corrosion. But I couldn’t get the terminal off and I did this and it worked.
Is it always the positive terminal that seems to get stuck with corrosion the most? My positive yerminal is stuck on there but im going to try this. Do i need to wear a certain kind of glove when doing this. I will use a rubber handled screwdriver and hammer if necessary. Thank you.
You should never use a hammer on a battery post unless you're willing to damage the battery intrnally. They sell battery terminal lifters that look like small gear pullers, very similar to windshield wiper arm pullers. They are efficient, easy to use and don't damage the battery. If you're replacing the battery, pound away.
Thanks I was thinking of trying that. However I noticed that the terminal has small cracks on both sides of the terminal. So I aborted my attempt. Also my negative terminal is the one that is stuck from excessive corrosion.
Hello. How do you remove nut screw from the top ? Cant get mines loose , tried WD 40 , don't look rusted. Used hand ratchet...did not try power drill. @@PeterFinnTheCarDoctor
I try to remove the positive cable on my Toyota. I couldn't do it. Very hard. So I search on RUclips. Saw you video, and "Walla". Thanks You have a new subscriber
I tried its still stuck. Plus the terminal attacked to the screw is not moving outward. uugg. I used baking soda and wd40 to clean up the corrosion. Still a no go. Going to use Coca Cola next with a larger wedge screw driver.
Three years later and I just found this video, didn’t need the tools or the puller or anything just your video and the flat head thank you! 👍
Glad I could help!

12 mm socket
Thanks man, you are the best!
Cool ! :-)
Can you reuse the terminal (metal clamp) after doing that?
Yes
Thanks I was thinking of trying that. However I noticed that the terminal has small cracks on both sides of the terminal. So I aborted my attempt. Also my negative terminal is the one that is stuck from excessive corrosion.
You are correct
Is it okay to do this on the negative terminal?
Yes
