Always a treat watching your videos. We're really excited about Spring coming up because of the maples we bought from Mr. Maple have survived their first year. The fastest growers were the Statsuki Beni and the Wildfire. On the Mr. Maple site there is a Review of the Wildfire from a Beach town less than 15 miles down the way. We get the hottest blazing sun you can get and you wonder why a Beach city could get so dang hot. That Review was spot on. We've bought over 50 maples and they're doing fine. Some had to be moved to a shadier area and placed in pots. The single most important goal was to survive the 1st year and establish a healthy root system to survive this kind of heat. On a side note, we bought a Sango Kaku from Mr. Maple and two from the local department store. (different stores) Would you believe that the 2 trees were of less quality compared Mr. Maple? We talking quality here. The bark on the Mr. Maple Sango Kaku is WAY more red than the other two. Where can we possibly write you and send winter pics of some of our trees? We're your parents age and nowadays it takes us all day to mail an Email. Just joking. But it could be a long letter and would be nice for you two to see some results.
