Being a lifetime drummer this is the epitome of drumming. To be lost in the pocket, having a blast, banging some tasteful drumming out on a 4 piece with 3 cymbals and a hi-hat. This is what any drumming is about.
@@JabezGill hardly a “random fact”. The fact that I’m a bass player is indicative of the fact that I normally listen for bass parts and can pick apart technical bass lines when I hear them. Drums I am less familiar with and was therefore surprised that it was so technical when I see it. You should begin your statements with “ I’m a douchebag”. It would be similarly revealing.
@@JazGalaxy I've been playing upright and electric bass for 20+ years and I always listen to the drum part. It's almost always intertwined with what I'm doing as a bassist. To proudly proclaim "I'm a bass player; I had no idea that drums on this song were so technical" says more about your ignorance than anything else.
Anybody else notice how he laid off the cymbals while the lead singer was right there in his face to keep from blowing the singer out and bleeding the cymbals through the vocal mic? Pro move right there. Kudos, man, much respect!
I think he means the crashes right as the singer leaves. He didn't hit them nearly as hard because the vocal mic was near. He goes right back to smashing once he's all clear
I enjoyed this video. I felt the singing was a bit off tempo a bit but if anyone seen a Say Anything show knows how energetic the band is, it’s understandable. But the drummer for this run did an fantastic job on this song. There are so many tempo changes and how technical this song is. Kiddos to the whole band. Kuddos to the drummer for keeping it fun and entertaining.
Moment of silence for this beautiful sound coming from these drums and cymbals. Reed will be missed. Would be super cool if they had coby come back for this badass u.s. 3 album tour they're about to do.
great video. i don't know but it felt like he was rushing a bit at times. i feel like at 1:53 max is back there like "let's slow it down a touch my guy"
Does anyone knows what cymbals is he using? I mean i know they are Zildjians, A's and A Customs, but what sizes or variants? It would be nice if in the video description the types and sizes were written, so we all could know what cymbals and drums and stuff the drummers are using. Btw what a great channel, awesome videos!
maxcreed3 looks to be a 21" sweet ride and maybe 18" a custom projection craah. Unsure of the hats but wouldn't surprise me if they were A custom mastersounds
Super solid drummer! AND a modern drummer who has his snare height and angle in a logical position. The whole tilting the snare toward the rack craze is the stupidest and most impractical thing I've ever seen.
I personally don't understand angling the snare at all. I prefer it as flat as possible for the most power and easy rimshots. Toms being tilted I understand, but not the snare.
A drummer can set stuff however they want. Personally I think leaning it toward you is stupid because it allows no power. Also it doesn't allow rimshots. I angle mine slightly away from me for the best rimshots.
Lol love how everyone praises the drummer when they know fucking shit about drumming but just go with the masses and agree oh HES DAMN GOOD HELL YEAH! Like if it was Just max singing you wouldn't even mention his drums lmfao
Can we just not talk about how wasted the singer was and how it was a purely the bands performance that made the gig. That was gross and great at the same time. Seriously, he was wasted. I bet he doesn't even remember

The singer came up to him at around 2 minutes, and he just kept in his zone. Great place to be
You ain’t lying brother. This is just beautiful and what it’s all about
Not to be a dick but this song sounded really rushed. The drums are rushed and the rest of the band is playing at the albums proper tempo.
I'm a bass player. I had no idea that drums on this song were so technical. Fun to watch.
Any drum parts Coby Linder wrote, there's way more than meets the eye for sure!
I’m an avid hiker. I had no idea that random facts were that important to begin RUclips comments with.

Have you learned to listen to your drummers yet? They surely listening to you! Rock on brother!!!

No! thats exactly what you do when a singer sticks their ugly mug in your kit, blow em out!
No, there just aren't any cymbals at that point in the song lol. Might be why Max walked over then.
I thought that part was actually how the drum part was written actually. I think Max Bemis knew that. Either way, yes, Reed Murray is the bees knees.

had the pleasure of seeing them live twice once with the hard girls opening
One of my all time favorite shows
This drummer is amazing 🤙🏾👏🏾
Those tempo changes are on point
Damn. He has Cobys intensity. Insane. Love it. I play guitar/bass but gotdayum its so infectious watching drummers.
Thanks for watching!
band killed it
you killed it
awesome overall
great job on the quality man
Thanks so much.

Fucking dope dude. Coby would be proud
Reed is a genuinely underrated drummer.
What a fun band!
max is sounding pretty rough this one. i saw em last year and they were phenomenal.
Probably a bit too drunk
It's never as good when recorded and you're listening to it sober vs listening to it live
Years of cigarettes finally getting to him
I hate that's he's slightly off tempo with the vocals
That was fantastic
brilliant! great quality videos as usual! love it !
Thanks! :)
Wow thats all done from the bass drum, a snare, 2 toms, a high hat, and a couple cymbals. Guess you don't need a fancy set after all. 👍🏻
Solid drummer! Cool to watch.
So clean.
listening 2019
great video. i don't know but it felt like he was rushing a bit at times. i feel like at 1:53 max is back there like "let's slow it down a touch my guy"
Reed Murray you're a beast.
This drummer is really smooth.
Awesome!
Awesome song & a great drummer!!!!!!
He killed it!!
The sound is brutal!

Great drummer
So fucking good
Band was great, singer needs to get his shit together! I know it won't sound exactly like the album version but at least sing in tempo.
incrível
fuck. this is how its done

Agreed. He also has his snare and floor tom at the same height but doesn't tilt his tom. Seems a little inconsistent but he's still really good.
I know some drummers who play in traditional grip find it easier to play like that. For matched tho its kinda dumb
NickMorrisDrums his tom is most definitely tilted in this video..

Sounds like Mr. Bemis popped a couple Quaaludes before the show lol
Oh God, I love going to SA shows, but I'm glad they're giving it up now before he totally fucking loses it again. Been sloppy for about five years
is this a monitor feed??
This guy is a good drummer. However, he doesn’t have the same feel as Coby.
Coby was really unmatched in this band and perhaps in pop-punk overall.
Lol love how everyone praises the drummer when they know fucking shit about drumming but just go with the masses and agree oh HES DAMN GOOD HELL YEAH! Like if it was Just max singing you wouldn't even mention his drums lmfao
Shit. He plays drum like at home.
We’re is that concert at tho I want to go
Max still managed to ruin it
zacharybsmith1987 can’t ruin a song you created
@@WannaBeRockStar800 I disagree
Bo Burnham on drums ladies and gentlemen

Well, it wouldn't be the first time.
More likely he's just tired. He's overweight as a result of psychiatric meds, which also zap his energy. He does pretty well, all things considered.
@@mallacoda1 nah he’s shot.
Bassist ruined it for me.
God that was bloody brilliant
