You’re a gift unbelievably kind and thoughtful person.
I appreciate that kind compliment! Thanks for being here!
This is a good idea the only thing I would do differently is include some matches and water purification tablets and also vacuum seal the individual meals with a small oxygen absorber.
Great idea. It my military service I have used the “first strike ration” kits. The key take aways for those were 1) no cardboard or extra packaging to reduce need to field strip and 2) almost all eat on the go > no heater and snack/eat-on-move size.
I definitely like yours better. I am concerned about the bulk and would love to see it be smaller if possible. I also like snacks between meals and the concept of eating on the go.
I can’t wait to put some of these together for myself. Love it man. Thanks!!!
Dude that is super cool!! I definitely need to make some of these!!! You could probably sell those MREs on your website
Try adding squezable baby food packs ,like the rest and vegetables pouches and some kind of green multivitamin powder drink mix.
Been making these for a long time using the Warfighter model of caloric & carb content. Plus, we have ready made pallets. 🤩🤩🤩
I thumbed up and like to share my complete emergency food and water supply. Take Peanut Butter, Trail mix with Chocolates, Honey, Jerky in a large gallon zip lock. Mix well. Grab bag of Flour or Corn Tortillas. For Water grab Tang, Electrolyte packs and Gatorade powder. Simple cause the last of us will be catching Rats anyways.
Great ideas.
Vacume sealer would make a big difference with the bulk of the kits but they look great. Need to make some myself.
Love your videos! Would be super interesting to see if you could make a video about your shooting and firearms training routine. Or in general how you would deploy and use your firearms for defence in a SHTF / Bug Out scenario.
Thank you so much! I'm sure I'll make a video like that in the future, thanks for the suggestion!
Tremendous job absolutely tremendous I think you could put what was breakfast or lunch
Etc. on the inside clear plastic bags just a thought keep up the great work, buddy. I miss you and I don’t see you around.
Thank you for sharing your methods. I would be really interested in seeing how you prepare the meal from this. There are lots of videos about using USGI MREs, I'm interested in how you would prepare the homemade version.
Great job! I have done these 8n the past!
Thank you very much! I had fun making them! thanks for watching and sharing!
For a "get home" pack, a daily multi vitamin isn't needed. But if one were whipping up a bunch of these intended for longer term use, it might be a good addition.
Love the addition of the drinking water pouches.
Salt content is huge. But if you're sweating in summer might be good.
Sweet idea, thanks
thank you! and thank you for watching!
That is a great idea thank you very much. Don and Donna north idaho
Nice video 😊
Definitely a great idea! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Best video on simple MRE ive seen so far
Thank you very much! I really appreciate that! thanks for watching and sharing!
I would advise not going hot and spicy, just in case your water supply is low. Overall great ideas.
I would suggest: 1. place a wetwipe pack in each small bag, and two in the condiments pack. 2. include an extra two packs of water in the condiments pack, (I know, weight, but better to have it than not.) 3. A long handle spoon (the spoon from an MRE would work) 4. Wrap two feet of TP paper around a plastic straw and bend the remaining straw over the outside of the TP secure with a small rubber band, then place the whole in a bag of it's own. Over all your MRE would be excellent and I will have to try it myself! One question, what would the shelflife be on your MRE pack?
Military MRES if stored properly there OK, the other two are 🤮🤮. I make my own also. 👍
Great idea
Thank you very much! I really appreciate that! thanks for watching and sharing!
I wish I could figure out how to vacuum seal a mylar bag. If you can do that then this would be awesome.
They have machines that can do it, but they’re expensive! Thanks for watching!
Great video as always
Thank you so much.. I appreciate it!
Cool concept. Question, is that price including the cost of the clear plastic bags, mylar and absorbers?
I love this! What do you think is the longest time frame you can store something like this before it goes bad?
I'm wondering the same thing. Would vacuum seal help with longevity?
Wet wipe with each meal would be better.
Thanks for this video. I also made my own MRE’s. I vacum sealed every thing inside and also went for freeze dried food instead of “wet” packaged foods. And ofcourse all meals combined in a sealed mylar bag with oxygen absobers.
I have a question because thats why i did choose the freeze dried foods. How about the shelf life of your MRE’s?
I know mine are pretty long shelf stabile.
Looking forward to your answer.
Keep posting this video’s brother 👊🏻
Also curious re: storage life.
Military MRE's have a shelf life of 7 years if stored at a reasonable temperature
@@JO-rk5guyeah i know thanks 😅 but since this is a diy mre i’m curious about the shelf life of this kit
Im guessing, ( if stored properly) my MREs probably have a palatable shelf life of around 5 years.. I don't think I'd want to consume most of the contents of my MREs after that point.. Thanks for watching!
What is the shelf life on these compared to the military grade MRE's ? I know those ones can last more than 2 years with not so strict temp controls, whereas the store bought ready to eat meals usually spoil quicker if temps are off.
The expiration date on the entrees is 2 years.. about the same as can food.. so pretty much the same as MRE’s thanks for watching!
So what would the shelf life on something like this be?
Just curious did you look at what nutritional intake your kit was because that thing is so massively sugar loaded its crazy. It might be fine for a day but multiple days that's a real problem and with that much sugar water is going to be an issue. I'm assuming you accounted for the dissolve rate of all that sugar and how much water is needed to process. I know it would take away the idea the idea of complete separation of meals but I'd separate all the condiments together as the all the militaries learned making mre's they are usually the first thing to fail, so keeping them in each meal is just adding more fail points to the kit.
Awesome video brother 🇺🇸🗽✝️🦅
Thanks man, I appreciate it!
With 3 meals wouldn’t you want 3 wet wipes for your hands
Just curious, what expiration date did you give it?
Idk if id trust that sloppy joe hahaha
Hope you don"t have to eat all that crappy processed food long term - the salt and sugar and toxic ingredients will kill you.
Not intended for long term. The intention here is for emergency, any number of them, preventing starvation until a long term sustainable food source is identified and secured.
