I remember driving a Series II from Brownsville Texas through Mexico, South America and down to Central America during a summer while in college in the 1980's. This is a great video which all off roaders should watch. These card did not have much power but it was right in the powerband you needed to be the ultimate off roader.
Ofcourse i find Sam in the comment section of this classic video, probably the best Land Rover video on planet earth. This is easily the 4th time i've seen it! I should make a video talking about this masterpiece
Best. Video. Ever. As a 2A owner I swear to never be morally defeated and become a Land Rover Professional! From 11:00 this video is pure Land Rover owner gold.
In Latin America Land Rover"s are FAMOUS for that you can go ALMOST anywhere in one ! Land Rovers love muddy roads they were engineered with that in mind ...
Great material, although I'm sure at some point accelarated and unnaturally fast. Never understood why Landy's were not standard equiped with ROPS, raised air intake and steerbars protection. Also the aftermarket never responded to this priority if you really go out there.
I will update this KXC 607L has been found it is currently SORN as of 10 January 2019. If anybody knows of its where about please let me know! Thank you
Maybe you can re-upload it now. With improved technology since your original post, maybe it can be a better resolution and picture quality now. Thanks!
Just good regular maintenance and it'll last well just like all old cars... keep the oil air filter clean and good fully synthetic 10w/40 in the engine and fresh oil on the diffs is the basic. Land rovers love a good bit of oil or they get stiff and rusty like the leaf spring shackles and handbrake cables. Mines been sitting for 10 years I'm just pulling it out and fixing it up 👌🏻🌈🚙
@@finnice No need for synthetic oil. Any oil of today is better than any oil of the late 50's or 60's. therefore has to be good enough. It's better to use mineral oil and change it more frequently. Also, Land Rover Series do not have handbrake cables. Handbrake lever rotates on a shaft and moves another small lever that engages the drum brake on the drive shaft that comes out of the transmission. That way when in four wheel drive, it's also a four wheel handbrake. It has no cables anywhere in its path. I would check the pads on it though, because the vehicle is so old, as it's a separate, fifth, brake drum and the pads won't be changed regularly there.
Haha - a landrover immobilised is a moral defeat for the driver and bad publicity for the vehicle Avoid such disasters as these embarrassing defeats. Join the professionals Myth and legend. Different times maaaan

Try to do that with the new 2022 defender and you’ll end up at the shop for service by the end of the day!
My Land rover 88 series 2A (1963) still have same performances :-)
Mine to 👍
I have an identical one on a farm in AUS. Ive died and gone to heaven.
Awesome video! I've never owned or driven a Land Rover, so I wouldn't know what it takes to drive safely. Good things to consider when driving an SUV.
Gotta love them Land rovers

I like it when they say, almost any where.
double declutch and double revs to select low ratio whilst on the move
What year was this video distributed? I'm really interested to know!
Love it!
When offroading was a logic thing. Not "press this button" (and get stuck).

Better 20W50 classic oil! Not a modern one. Modern seals are different.
