Learn 20 shortcuts native English speakers use to speed up their conversations. The 20 tips in this lesson are very common and you'll hear them frequently. For example, "going to" often becomes "gonna," "have got to" often becomes "gotta," "what are you" often becomes "watcha."
This lesson is based on informal spoken English. If you know the sounds native English speakers use to shorten their words and sentences, you'll understand more.
I hope you enjoy it! Let me know in comments which ones were new for you. And, do you have any favorites?

Wonderful Maria! You'll definitely start hearing these shortcuts too :)
🤠👌excellent
Thank you so much Reza! :)
Thank you! Please, do the video explaining words like the one about the difference of experience and experiences. There’re more like ‘feeling’ as noun and ‘feelings’ or ‘ I convey my sympathy’ and ‘my sympathies’, or ‘condition’ and ‘conditions’. How many sympathies do we have to convey to a person? The road condition is bad, or the road conditions are bad. I have a feeling for you, or I have feelings for you. It’s a mutual feeling or mutual feelings.
I have a short on "experience vs. experiences" here: ruclips.net/user/shortsqtAaDGJ2cjo
The other ones are good questions that I definitely need to answer :)
I hope one day to get to speak with all of your tips. For now, I am not that good when it comes to speaking. It might be because of a lack of practice. I speak to myself, though. Anyway, thank you, Arnel. Great lesson, as always. 🙂
It's definitely more challenging without regular practice Vitor! But, keep going!! :)
Pura vida Arnel!🌴Wow, It was fun and challenging for me to repeat with your speed. My favorite is “Whydju”. I will practice to sound smoother. Thank you so much!
My examples:
1. A lot of fast repetitions are indispensable to master this topic.
2. Blue Sky’s favorite phrase is “what are you doing”?
3. Out of curiosity, how much would a Whydju cost?
OMG Kattia Whydjus are so expensive! ;)
Love your examples as always. Keep practicing! And I'll keep practicing your name 😁.
11:10 I was already doing that before your instruction.
I'm from India. I'm am working on my English speaking fluency. You make things easier. Moreover I love your way of teaching 😃😃

Arnel plz tell me
This sentence is right
(There were 700billion kWh of electricity production in INDIA, Canada, France, and Brazil and approximately 500 billion of electricity usage.)
Hi Arnel
Outta curiosity or maybe a serious question, how t' become a brilliant teacher like ya?
Ye, whydju is ma favorite 2, Arnel.. 😎
Yeeessss "whydju" is definitely the best one ;)
5:08 I think it was 'I saw them last week'
Hi Arnel, how's it goin' ?.
I've got a question.
In the expression;
- "I have to submit your application by friday"
- applying the reduction;
"I HAFTA submit"
(YOU say it this way when YOU'VE GOT TO DO AN ACTION).
I understand that you pronounce "have" like a "V" when you point out "possession", example;
- I have a new car".
Then the question is;
Is it true that the word "HAVE" has two pronunciations just like I texted above ?.
I mean;
- hafta > indicating obligation.
- haV > indicating possession.
Thanks in advance for answering. 👍.
Yes, your explanation is correct Fredy. HAVE possessive has the "v" sound, and HAVE TO has the "f" sound. :)
Can you do for us a video about , how can I use ' that'. , please
Voçê é perfeita❤❤❤Parabéns teacher❤❤❤Amo teus videos ❤❤voçê é muito linda❤❤❤ Namora comigo❤❤🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🙏🙏
