- Panettone is a traditional Milanese Christmas pie. It is very similar to our cake, but it differs in taste. This pie's naming origin is ambiguous. The romantic version looks more appealing for me. It states that panettone was invented by a Milanese baker's apprentice named Antonio for his loved one. I hope that men will want to repeat the feat of a baker's apprentice and bake this cake for their loved ones.
Ingredients:
- 600 g flour;
- 1 tbsp. dry yeast or 1 tsp. dry yeast;
- 200 g warm water;
- 100 g sugar;
- 2 yolks chicken eggs;
- 100 g yoghurt (unsweetened);
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract;
- 1 tbsp. lemon zest;
- 100 g raisins;
- 100 g dried currant (can be replaced with dried cherries);
- 1 tbsp. butter;
- 50 g powdered sugar.
