Nice video. Word of warning. When you finish a run and press the silver button to stop and see the big red square, immediately select save. Otherwise, your hard earned data will just evaporate into thin air after a few seconds, never to be retrieved again.
Thanks for this review. Just for clarification, if I want a single screen to display my pace, my distance, my bpm and my calories all at a glance without having to scroll screens while I'm jogging, I can set it up that way? Also, how accurate is the heart rate monitor compared to a chest strap and is it possible to send chest strap bpm data to the watch if I didn't want to use the built in watch monitor? Thanks.
I no longer have the Vivoative 3 but yes you can customize data fields. See here: www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/vivoactive3/EN-US/GUID-C6CF3D4D-4671-4EAD-95D7-83F52C2B51CD.html. As far as the HR monitor and aw with all wrist monitors they are decently accurate if... you wear it tightly away from the wrist bone and if you encounter issues move to your on your dominant arm (usually right arm with more blood flow). You may find: issues early in runs in cold weather (less blood flow to extremities if not warmed up), wrist not ideal for any activity where hands are clenched say gym or bike. You should be able to pair a chest sensor but I am not positive. I know you can pair a foot pod, say for treadmill.
I'm not a runner but this watch looks like it would work for someone who does running as a part of their workout routine. Or runs once in a while. Does enough. I think the 955 is overboard.
How do you answer calls on the watch? And if you do, does the sound come out of the watch or phone? How close do the phone and watch have to be in order to answer calls on the watch? Thanks
Pavara Ranatunga no music storage on the Vivoactive 3 but just announced Forerunner 645M GPS Watch can hold 500 songs and be listened to over Bluetooth headphones. Another option the Fitbit Ionic GPS with on board music and a decent basic running app but not the full run training of Vivoactive or 645M. See our RUclips of that Ionic our channel. Both have about 5 Hours of training time with GPS, HR, and music going.
Vivoactive 3 Music edition will be released in the next few weeks. It'll be a bit more expensive but hopefully it'll make the standard version come down in price too
I don't believe it does as wrist HR sensing and bluetooth transmission to watch does not play well with water in the mix. You would want to use a chest strap such as this HRM-Tri or HRM-Swim from Garmin: :www.runningwarehouse.com/Garmin_HRM-Tri_Heart_Rate_Transmitter/descpage-GMHRTRI.html?from=rtr It stores while you swim and then transmits after to the watch. As far as lifting due to clenching of the wrists interfering with blood not sure you would get as solid results as with a chest strap but have not tested
Dont ever buy this crap , we sell them and more like 20% of then end up in boot loop after first month . Worst watch ever. You cant compare this crap to Fenix range. Fenix ,even old Fenix 3 are 50times better in every way.
sold my Apple watch series 1 and bought this crap, very cheap looking watch, UI is so dated, Pixels are bursting, its no way near 300$ watch, i would not pay 50$ for this trash, moving back to Apple Watch, way better in looks and functionality, I would not recommend anyone to buy this watch.

Can you turn off wifi and bluetooth connections when not needed?

I would for sure look at the 245 or the new Polar Pacer Pro

you can answer on the watch but have to speak hear on phone. Distance if I recall 10-20 meters or so.
@@RoadTrailRun Oh OK, thank you very much. Can you connect bluetooth earbuds tho?
Can you store any music on this device? If so, how much storage space is there? Can I connect my bluetooth headphones onto this device?

Hi, for running better this or Fr45?
Vraagje kan je daar ook gewoon 1 Coordinaat invoeren
Can it shows data for your running cadence in steps per min..
Yes Vivoactive 3 can show current, average, lap, and last lap cadence if you set them up as data fields
Yes, yes, you keep saying "easy to configure", so show how to configure.
Press down on the watch face, scroll to settings, activities & apps, select an activity, rearrange.
Whats the name of the watchface?
Dominik Janßen it’s one of the included. You can modify data shown and colors.
Does it track hr with the wrist mounted hr monitor while swimming and lifting?

As a standalone fitness tracker it blows the Apple Watch away. As a Smart watch the opposite is true.
this is not a smartwatch
I Sold my samsung watch to buy a Apple watch and the apple watch is a piece of shit imma get the samsung back
