That actually does contribute! Notice that as Mario grabs Bowser, Bowser moves a small amount towards the bomb, making throwing him to the bomb a little bit faster. This only happens if you BLJ into the grab animation.

One of those things is what you mentioned; the B2 fight BLJ actually does save time...as it allows Mario to be closer to the bomb after the tail grab. The JP TASers are genius for optimizing that part!
I remember 10-12 years ago when I was a decent super mario 64 player I used to visit the super mario 64 forum.I used to play challenges and do different star speedrun but i never TAS-ed but I hanged(virtually) with a lot of people who TAS-ed(I think SilentSlayers rings me a bell but I might be wrong on this).Back in those days people used to believe that is never possible to "jump" between floors because the nintendo 64 doesn't load the floor until you pick up the coresponding key.What changed since then?TAS-ers didnt had enough speed to go thru the bowser 2 room so 0 stars speedruns werent invented back then.Seeing how things have changed makes me a little proud of the constantly evolving players.Good luck in future projects guys!

3:00 within 15 seconds, mario goes though this door, skips te first bowser fight, breaks through the cieling, and bacjwards long jumps to break through the 3rd star door in the game, wall jumps and gets to the final boss fight without the use of BLJing up the stairs
I see tons of improvements from this. Skpping the first Bowser fight, you BLJed straight into the warp instead of you just kicking to get there. And a lot of improvements like utilizing a level to skip the first fight. And using PU movement too. Which is kinda surprising. You're also doing blind movements. Especially at the 1 Key stair BLJ. Nice one.

Let me give a new rule idea of TAS: If Mario finally gets able to control by you,the recording starts. I mean,if we want less time,we could start the video after the start cutscene and end the video if the game goes to play the credits.
Yes, it is PU movement, combined with a glitch called Overflow Jump. I don't know the specifics, but basically, a double jump converts horizontal speed to vertical speed, thus Mario can jump very high with a lot of speed. However, the speed here is negative, so it sends him down. So far down, in fact, that Mario's height ends up overflowing, thus actually moving him up (even though Mario's position is a float so it shouldn't overflow. IDK how that happens. +sonicpacker do you mind explaining?)
