The MAP barrow still the best one on the market! Strong and study. I’ve had mine for a couple of years and it’s never let me down. The frame does not suffer like other brands have on joints etc, worth the money. When you need a dependable trolley to carry all your kit to your peg and with a hard pole case and large ready rod bags this is the one to have.
Great review on the Map 4X MK2 barrow. The only problem I have had with my Map X4 Mk.2 barrow was that one of the wheels had seized whilst pushing the barrow back after a club match. The plastic wheel hubs and the metal Axle Spindle being coated with plastic had melted together. Now I have upgraded my wheels by removing the wheel plastic hubs then inserting metal bearings making the barrow a lot easier to push. Apart from the wheel problem it's a great barrow. I would recommend upgrading the wheels for metal bearings.
Great video as always . Been using the MAP four wheel trolley for about 18 month now. Can't fault it. I have the XL bag for attaching to the front of the trolley and the XL version comfortably holds a 4 net stink bag. May I suggest that you use small ratchet straps that are much better and far safer than bungee cords. Halford do bright yellow, orange or green 25mm wide X 3 metre long straps for about £5 highly recommended. Footnote. If you remove the rear bag and reverse the handles so as they point upwards then refit the bag its far easier to push the trolley 😊
Again a good comprehensive review . I bought one last week and used it first time today . Nice and strong can't fault it although i did make a bracket to support the rear of my H frame Matrix seat box . Obviously not needed if you have Z frame seat box . And i also turned the handles to point upwards . Loads of room in the rear bag for ground bait buckets etc or your waterproofs and a coat . Just need a front bag now .
Thank U Great video as usual. I am one of those people who appreciate you and what you do but never say anything. I hope things are on the up for you forget the haters most of them couldn't stand in front of a camera and do what you do.
Great video Ben. Bought this one after seeing your matrix barrow video last year. Managed to pick it up from my local for £170, then got the xl front bag too. I don't use the storage bag anymore as it saves a bit of time, but a great item to have for other bits and bobs. My only two gripes with it is the handle grips could have been a bit more comfy (maybe a neoprene cover with finger grips) and they could do with two extra bungee/strap attachment points at the front. I'll be adding the latter later this year.
Great review of the MAP X4 Barrow..my mind has now been made up as I had toyed with buying the Preston shuttle, but as I am mainly a natural venue canal/river angler the brilliant narrow wheel base option has really sealed it for me as on my local canal some stretches of the towpath are very narrow due to the bankside foliage not having been cut back and covering a lot of the towpath.. This is a fantastic barrow..Thankyou Ben..Tight lines! 😃🎣
Hi Saw your video on the 3 trolleys and you mentions that the Preston 4 wheels were ground clearance was higher of the three but if you notice the rear wheels on the Preston have what appears to be a spindle through the wheels which would render it having the lowest ground clearance. Not being picky and a very good video but worth noting if ground clearance was important.
Great barrow if you don't have a problem, I know lots of people with these without issues. However... on mine a weld broke on the front of the frame after 2 months and I've been waiting since 5th March for a replacement.
Hi, Ben. I have the new Preston absolute seat box. Would this box fit on this shuttle? I use the Preston shuttle which is fine but thought I’d ask the question
I picked up my X4 mk2 from The Big One show about 3yrs ago for £180 with all the extras, best thing I've bought for a long time, I'd heard mixed reviews about the MK1 version but this has been faultless, highly recommended
Just got my MAP x4 delivered after looking at all your reviews of barrows ...lovely thank you ideal for car

Take the Handles out and turn them so they point upwards. Makes it a lot easier to push and steer.
Was just about to add this myself. Really does make things easier.
Nice video and review. Good to see you back Ben.
yup thats what we all do, much easier, also spares aren't to expensive either when you eventually need to replace the back bag
Good tip
Never thought of that. Great tip. Thank you
Correct. Did that after pushing up a reasonable steep slope. Works a treat.

Great review as always nice to see you back and looking so well Ben.
Thank you kindly!
Ben nice to see you back was using the Korum bungies myself but just recently bought the Matrix ones as the Korum ones broke.
I have one with the front bag too, great for holding your keep-net bag. Great trolley, robust excellent value for money, you won’t be disappointed…👍
Great video Ben.

Absolutely love mine
ive had one a few years now and its great, i turned the handles so they face upwards, find it a lot easier to push like that.

Nice to see u back or whats left of ya fair play on the weight loss. I use the same trolley great bit of kit
Thanks 👍
Go steady with the narrow wheel set up. Easy to topple over on a sloped bank.

how does this barrow goes with H-frame boxes? are you able to have front bag and carry h-frame seatbox ? (for example XR36 comp or H30 lite)
Hi, Ben. I have the new Preston absolute seat box. Would this box fit on this shuttle? I use the Preston shuttle which is fine but thought I’d ask the question
I use the inception station on mine with no issues whatsoever so I'm guessing the absolute will be fine
Yes no problem
Ill wait for the V3 with electric motor & seat 😊
Matrix have just launched the all wheel electric Trolley. £899.00 Delivery approx end of December
They are no good for H frame seat boxes, I had to make a wooden block at the end to sit my inception box H frame on.
Could you put a photo of that up.
