Thanks Steve!
Niceeeeeeeee! Beautiful fish. This video is great! Just makes me sad because I'm sitting in canada right now and everything is just frozen lol keep it up! Looking forward to seeing more vids from you
Thanks for your kind words FFD! Roll on the Canadian summer!
FFD I fished the RAM river 20 years ago, whilst staying with friends who live in Fort McCleod.
Great experience, absolutely loved Canada.
Great camera work, enjoyed watching. I have just started filming and this is the benchmark! Subbed! 👍🏻🎣
Thanks for watching Chris!
Hi Rhys, thanks for sharing your technics on all your video. Xan you tell me if the apps worm works on coloured water? If so, which colour do you prefer then? Thanks in advance!
Black, red, yellow, green, pink are the most popular colours. Red works well on mullet. Congratulations on your recent bass!
Many thanks@@RhysFishes but my main question was if the worm apps works on coloured water?? OK for colours. Yes a hell of a bass on fly!
@@RhysFishes thanks for your reply. But my question was are the worm working in coloured water? Yes a very nice bass on the fly indeed! The fish of the year so far !
@@jean-baptiste-vidal yes they do. Just need to slow the retrieve down to ensure the fish see the fly

Great days fishing. Any chance you could recommend a clear Intermediate line pls? Keep the videos coming 👍
Thanks for watching Gary!If your looking for a fast intermediate you won't go wrong with a Rio aqualux! I wouldn't be without one👍
On the aqualux line do you mark the line in anyway to know when to start the hang ? Find I’m stripping it in to the rod eyes
I dont mark but you could a thread marker at 15ft to assist with the hang
Hi Rhys I love your videos. I fish in a smallish stillwater constantly muddy coloured by Carp digging about in the bottom. Any chance you could do a video on one and give us a few pointers re methods and lures ? Thanks in advance.
Thanks John. Coloured water doesn't matter much to Carp. check out this video here: ruclips.net/video/SF9a9D6CGQE/видео.html
Great stuff Rhys.
Any plans on revisiting Ellerdine?
Thanks Oldgold! I'll be visiting again when the buzzers are in full swing! give me a shout when that is and we can meet up!
@@RhysFishes will do!
Hi Rhys did you actually explain what the hang was? If so I missed it.
Hey Martin, thanks for your question! The hang is a tactic you use at the end of the fishable cast, when there's about 7ft of line outside the rod. At the point of the retrieve when the flies are about 7ft away from you, just slowly lit up the rod and change the retrieve into a steady figure of eight! As you can probably see in the video, so many of the fish we had that day, took the flies once you stop a faster strip retrieve and transition across to the figure of 8, with no more than 10ft of fly line outside the rod. Some occasions you won't even need to figure of eight, simply dapping the flies across the top at the end of the cast will invoke a take. If you have questions, let me know!
@@RhysFishes thanks for the explanation. Great videos. You certainly know how to catch fish🎣 Varying the retrieve seems to work wonders. Trouble is I love fishing the bung.🙃
@@martinhalls5123 Thanks for your feedback! Who doesn't love the bung right???
Another beaut video again sir! Im really struggling catching at the moment so hopefully your tips are going to net me a few more. Keep em coming. {p.s. It really makes me cringe when I see you getting you jacket sleeves wet in the cold brrrrrrrr}
Thanks for watching Nick! Hopefully the fish start biting for you soon!
