  • I had some great comments on my video about "The LEICA Philosophy" and also some...discussions ;)
I had a lot of fun reading the positive feedback, some great user experiences, and also the more critical approach some people have to the issue.

Well spoken. Don't let the negative people on RUclips get to you, there is too many of them. Your content is great and I value what you have to say. I don't even own a Leica! :) Looking forward to more of your videos. Thanks!

Hey thanks for your review on feedback re Leica. Personally I really appreciate that people like you are out there, and prepared to take the time to share information regarding whatever ever subject. But I guess there's always others that will knock or denigrate for whatever reason!
Really enjoy your reviews! And especially the philosophy re Leica.

Great to see many comments about this photography ideas. It is indeed a true way of life, art, pleasure to take photographs. Leica cameras apart from looking darn sexy are now part of history. I'd like to also share my story.
Still in my 20s, i've always loved taking pictures. During my student years abroad I took pictures but of course they looked like shit with old phones and primitive digital cameras. So memories are inside my mind, which is also an healthy way of life somehow.
I finally bought a true camera 5 years ago, a micro 4/3rd Lumix GF1. It is still such a great camera with that rangefinder look. I love it so much.
Though I always wanted to shoot film and full frame to get as close as that classic and quality look. So I decided to buy a Sony A7S last month. I'm very happy and have fun using it. I use my father's old Canon manual lenses with it, amazing to see lenses older than me performing better than most modern ones.
Using those lenses I truly feel like using those Leica cameras as I need to manual focus with the great peaking mode. The A7S means I don't have to worry about the ISO, the higher ISOs add that special film grain to the image which I love!
So I think the Sony A7S can be a good alternative for people with less money, it can be used as a vintage camera, or a modern one.

Hello, thanks, again for sharing your point of view with all of us... You're perfectly right in your approach. I do not really understand people who criticize you - I am sure they are not able to understand all the different philosophies existing in doing photography. I am myself using a NIKON D700, a CANON 5D Mk III with a bunch of prime lenses, I bought the Fujifilm X-T1 in june... And yes, my next camera will be the Leica M with a Summilux 35mm lens on it and I am really really excited about that. Just for the fun of it, just for the fun of doing street photography. You're perfectly right also, you have the right to spend your own money in whatever you want ! If you don't need a car, that's nice, I'd like to be like you and spend my money on bass guitars and digital cameras than in stupid but necessary cars ! :-) Thanks for your time, your work is really appreciated here ! Regards, Eric.

I watched the first Leica video you put out and I totally connected with it even when I don't own a Leica myself, though it is something I've been lusting for and I know I will get one once my budget allows. I recently just switched over from a full canon set up 5D mark II and a couple L lenses to the Fuji X system and the change feels so refreshing. I grabbed my canon and it felt like just "work" as compared to some film cameras I have lying around, once I switched over it felt like second nature and I enjoy shooting much more. I can only imagine the feeling I'd get with a Leica, or any manual camera for that matter. Great Job on the videos, always a pleasure seeing you doing your thing on here!

I just started watching your channel. Thank you so much for your vids. Excellent job. I'm a Nikon D3 owner and love it. I'm looking a the Leica M because I love the art of taking pics and also I love the gear. I'm saving my money right now and will get one at the end of the year. As far as Nikon is concerned I'm waiting for the D5 which will probably be the last DLSR that I'll ever need. Same as the Leica M. Different gear I know, but its a hobby that I love. Anyway thanks again for the Leica vids your a true gentleman.

Well said. I own a Leica M3 and I love shooting with it, simple as that. If someone disagrees with my choice of camera, too bad. I don't do things to satisfy others, I satisfy ME, and if I enjoy the Leica, so be it, case closed. And, I don't look at it as a fashion statement, as some say it is. Trolls will be, they can't help themselves, in my opinion. I'm willing to bet that most people who love photography would love to shoot with a Leica, for whatever their reason. It took me awhile to save up for one and I knew I wouldn't rest until I got it. I have no regrets because it's a fun camera to use. BTW, I still shoot film - digital isn't for me. Enjoy your videos - keep 'em coming!

Back in the old days photography was all about of taking pictures; composing the shots, look for the right light, find a decisive moment and click the shutter... now is all about tech specs and the photography forums are plagued with technicians discussions about mega pixels, wifi, GPS, touch screens... are we talking cameras or cell phones? I ask...
Call me old school, but just today I just bought myself a Canon 5D (the original 12.8mp version) and a Leica M8 both in mint condition for less than $2000dlls... I decided to stop my G.A.S. obsession for finding the latest and greatest and simply put my money in the things that matter like going to Istanbul with my wife and take great pictures with my "crappy" old cameras.
I wish you don´t stop writing and comment about philosophy; I think of this kind of scattered spaces like oasis in the desert for those who still love photography as an art form. Regards, Ricardo

    Buone Feste !!

Dont worry about haters :) haters gonna hate. Its probably same thing as with apple. You pay a lot for a design and different user experience. I feel like there is an extra value in those things however everyones opinion might be different

dont own one, would love an m9 or 240, also the value the leica retains, i would estimate even the most used keep 60-90 percent of their value
