My Brother a good practice when you have four wires in the box . For eample, make pigtail for the receptacle.

I am amazed that you don’t have a RCD tester which will give you tests results like trip times . Anyway I enjoy your videos i keep learning how you guys work . Watching from the U.K.

I don’t think they even make an RCD tester for the U.S. market. If they do, then it’s definitely not something that’s used often.

Not uncommon for the voltage be that here in Texas

I was thinking the same thing. Ours is 125 in PA with First Energy. I didn't realize other utilities put out such a high voltage. Also, that is a waterproof cover but the gasket is missing and because of the brick, the surface isn't flat so it needs silicone sealer too. The other outlet has an "in use" cover which is better in cases where something is plugged in for a long time. Like outdoor decorations or pool filters.

      Yup 125 /258 volts in N.east

@@jaygosch8705was coming to say that. That cover was fine. It was just shot. Any of the gaskets material dryrotted away I usually run butyl tape strip to seal anything like that of mine over silicone. Least not the whole tape strip. But a trip cut down length wise and set the screws pull the plate and smash that between the brick and plate. Works like a champ. An ya never gotta worry about capping up a partial used tube. Or it hardening up before the next time you need it an already on job ect. Use that stuff for all kinds of things

@@AquaTech225 - That was a normal metal outlet box set into the brick. Doesn't that have to waterproof as well?

I have a gfci outlet outside of my house and it is blinking red. There was a major storm last night and I see a some moisture inside the outlet and I try to press the test button but it doesn’t click. Should I let try and dry out the outlet with a blow dryer and then test it or replace the outlet? Thanks!
