@Saravana Kumar K I'm personally locked into Nvidia graphics cards for the moment. They are much better at ray tracing, and DLSS is honestly a game changer.
AMD has produced a lot of big winners in the past. The ATI 9700 Pro was the king when it came out. Easily beating the best that Nvidia had at the time. Then the ATI 5870 did the same thing. Heck, my first Asus laptop had the 5870m in it.
But it's been a long time since AMD has produced a video card that set the standard for performance.
Stick with Nvidia until the next time they get dethroned.

Just an observation, your review unit of the Intel based Asus G18 had a Timespy Graphics score of 19,745 which is lower than all 4090 reviews I have seen and on par with several 4080s. The AMD variant in this review scored 22,831 in its Timespy Graphics score which is arguably more representative of 4090 scores one would expect to find in reviews. That is a significant 3k score disparity between two full wattage 4090s and it was surprising to see they were within a few frames of each other.

I remember hearing that AMD was tired of Intel comparing these monster 150w CPUs to their super efficient 45-50w offerings. Knowing that and how the HS series is for power saving, the lack of battery life on this model doesn't bother me at all, as this is quite literally a 7950X just dialed down to 130w max draw. Kinda nuts what we get in laptops again. :)

AMD should go back to 7nm, 6nm and 5nm to make chips that are cheapest for some , most efficient for some ,a mixed of both world for some use cases. 7nm is still very cheap to produce cheap desktop chips where efficiency is not an issue as laptops.

Ehy jarrod, nice review. I want to ask something about a problem... 2 friends bought it and both suffer from flickering using windows, and sometimes random crash and black screen (then reboots itselfs) with both machines. Not only that, sometimes back usb ports stop working and disconnect perihperals attached. You noticed something similar? There is even a threa in rog forum and seems that many thers suffer from those problems. Bad laptops batches or early drivers issue?

I have the back usb ports randomly disconnecting problem with my Scar 15 from last year too and It's a little bit tedious because I use an external ssd with my games on it plugged to that port and even now and then my games crash and can hear the windows usb sound disconnecting. Rare thing this is recently because some time ago didn't have that problem.

AMD is just fine for software development of course but when your deployment environment is all Intel based it's just easier to optimize performance if you've got an Intel CPU in your machine. You couldn't go wrong with either machine.

I mainly use the laptop when I'm at my summer retreat and I've got a bigger, but not nearly so nice, monitor there that I use as the main display.
