I know it’s a pen and not a car, but fake air intakes always make me chuckle. Happy new year!
They help prevent the pen from overheating during longer writing sessions. 🤣
Montblanc does an excellent job with their special editions. A lot of research was done by the company and you. Part of the intrigue with the pens is the detail done on the pen and the packaging as well. Including the ink color that Ferrari used is a great bonus.
The pen is fascinating. It is out of my price range. But a joy to look at, though.
I do have the Poe, Voltaire, and Wilde pens as well as a John Lennon pen. But my special edition days are behind me.
Great review, David.
You have THE BEST pen reviews David. No one even in the prime pen review days comes close. Always a pleasure seeing your reviews and getting your take. Thank you!
@@thomasjaeger2577 Thanks for watching!
This is the coolest looking pen I've seen from mont blanc. Thank you for your review as always 💖
Enzo had an interesting life by the sounds of it. Beautiful pen! Happy New Year! 🎉🥂
I really enjoy your videos! Listening to the way you speak makes me want to be more precise with my words! Also I like the new logo!
that's a very nice pen and a great review as always. one thing I noticed is that the metal part at the top of the cap is a matte finish meanwhile at the bottom is a shiny look. that's curious
Thank you for another great review David!
Wow, thanks for the review, and excellent channel. It somehow popped into my RUclips feed, and introduced me to an entire new world of interest! The Alfred Hitchcock Montblanc pen looks amazing! Looking forward to watching some of your other reviews, which will be quite the education, as I don't recall ever having even held a fountain pen, let alone understand their operation. The inks are fascinating as well.
Happy New Year! Thanks for a great review. I am going to be checking out the character and writers line since I had never heard they did those lines! Thanks again!
Thanks for the great review. For me, this is one of the best fountain pens from Montblanc. I love writing with it and it became my "Daily use" pen.
Looks great. That Brothers Grimm though... 😋
Happy New Year David! 🎊🎉
Thanks David for another great review and Happy New Year to you and family. Great info on details of pen and Enzo, many I did not know, including his use of purple ink. I really like the pen, however way out of my price bracket even for its “relatively low” MB price. I think I will pick up a bottle of the Enzo Purple and use it in my red Sheaffer Scuderia Ferrari that I picked up for
Happy New Year David :D
I have an exact same model of MB brothers Grimm and I must say the weight is pretty nice and I like it very much. Though my one seems to have baby's bottom and requires some mending if I wand to get rid of the hard start. Still a smooth nice writer in general. I heard rumors from MB employee that they are carrying SE pens in Van Gogh homage theme in 2023... looking forward to it personally
A beautifully designed pen with a lot of interesting detailing. It comes with a large variety of nibs but I think l would like to try the oblique broad.
Lately I noticed that the colour of your t-shirts are trying to match the colour of the pens.....Nice pen,
This is an exquisite piece. I'd pick it up for investment purpose alone!
Feliz Año Nuevo
Happy New Year 🎈!
The 599th video which is this video is the very final video of 2022 that Figboot on Pens uploaded.
What is the use of a fountain pen today? I can't imagine using one in my office or even at home. What's the point?
For various reasons, such as: aesthetics, customizable, broad ink selections, nostalgia, easy writing without having to apply pressure and the list goes on.
I don’t have this pen, but I have a bright ass Sheaffer 300 Ferrari model!
I should of never sold mine. I’m going to buy another one
Well, if you believe it is expensive, just think of it as a way to have a bit of Ferrari that is so much cheaper than buying a car. ;)
... and my own quibble: the quote / motto should have been engraved in the original (Italian). Perhaps it would have not fit well on the clip? No matter. Using English takes the sophistication and fun down two notches.
You are a bit subdued today. Nice, yet overpriced, pen though.
Though Montblanc is notoriously overpriced in general, I am surprised that this 🖋️ is not much more than the 149 Meisterstück.
With that said, it is. . .😑; Montblanc has done a nicer job in its character inspired 🖋️.
The preciously overrated and fragile PLASTIC has too many poorly machined slits that make it look like a toy from Star Wars.
So, I have scaled back my interests in 🖋️ and taken up ⌚.
Fascinating how similar the two "hobbies" (addictions are more appropriate) are.
Nonetheless, I notice a fundamental concept with both: a finite number of ways to design and manufacture something innovative.
Hence, much recycling of design and function in both industries.
Essentially, a Rolex, very much like a Montblanc in every way and form, can offer an excellent product. . .but will it have the unique character of a Zenith, like an Aurora, the artisanal quality of a Grand Seiko, like a Nakaya or Namiki, or even the reliability and versatility of a Seiko, not unlike a Pilot?
Well, what is it that drives one to pay a premium for a Rolex or a Montblanc when I can pay markedly less for a Tudor or a Pilot for the same fundamental experience?
Appreciation of carftsmanship and even legacy is one motivation, and not every purchase need reflect the highest value proposition.
Yet are premiums associated with luxury brands a genuine reflection of quality?
Well, that is an answer best found at the individual level.
This contemplative rant or semblance of tangents inspired by New Year's lead me to say that purchasing a 🖋️ or ⌚, alongside a 🚘, 💻, or even a cup of ☕, need to offer a distinct experience, even if a familiar one.
For me, the Enzo Ferrari Montblanc 🖋️ is not going to be any different than a 149 Meisterstück, which is not even an exceptional experience at its core.
Then again, it is no crime to appreciate this or other 🖋️ from Montblanc.
I just would advise against paying retail prices for Montblanc. . .and DEFINITELY for Rolex, let alone grey market prices.
