Good reaction. I'll think of another one & send it to you along with a donation. I've been loving Jerry Lee since '71. My wife & I like your reactions.
@@joeskinner6009 Hey Joe, I made the video then of course RUclips completely banned it for copywright reasons. You can watch it for free here: www.patreon.com/posts/first-time-merle-120614949?Link& I also have a 2nd Merle Haggard reaction which wasn't banned coming this weekend on RUclips. Cheers Dave
Jerry was one of a kind! But my favorite Louisiana keyboard player is still Mac Rebennack (Dr. John). A great showcase of his talent is him with Jools Holland performing as "The Boogie Woogie Twins" a few decades ago. RIP Doc.
...he and Elvis were friends(some 'tough times')...both part of the 'million dollar quartet' at Sun Studios in Memphis....also, he and Elvis only lived about 8 miles apart....JLL at the Lewis Ranch in Nesbit, MS and, Elvis of course at Graceland in S. Memphis near the MS state line.
You need to see and hear him in the 1950s. He was even wilder in his prime. Great performer. Totally love him. Jitterbugged many times to his music. By the way that’s a dance. Keep up the good work. And I’m 77 years young would still be dancing if anyone knew how
For another electrifying performance, check out Jerry Lee Lewis doing "Great Balls of Fire" in Melbourne, Australia, 1989. His Ed Sullivan medley, when he was younger, is great too.
@DaveWildheart there's video of him on the Steve Allen TV show when he was younger that shows him like that. The visual quality is pretty bad because it was back in the 50s but you can see why he was called the Killer. Lots of energy. You should check it out
The Killer in fine form! The man could beat a piano into submission😵💫! I love his "Back up" band in this one too, the equilibrium between his frantic playing and the guitarist craftmanship was perfect, even outnumbered Jerry Lee prevailed, lol! Fan fact: Jerry Lee, his cousins are Jimmy Swaggart, famous (Or Infamous) TV Preacher and Mikey Gilley, 80s country hits maker!
Wanna see Jerry the Wild One ultimate performer in his heyday, go here: ruclips.net/video/1dC0DseCyYE/видео.html My mother was raised just a few miles from Jerry's hometown of Ferriday, Louisiana--Jerry Lee was just another guy that rolled cigarette packs up in his tshirt sleeves.

Thanks a lot Joe. It was a pleasure to do this one. All the best to you and the wife.
@@DaveWildheart I'm trying to think of another song to send you along with a donation. Give me a few days.

One of Jerry Lee's calmer performances.
Haha, OK I gotta check him out when he was younger!

Thanks for the lovely message. He was one of the greats!
@ sandramercer607 , YES , However , he was " wild " in the 1960 ' , 70 's & even in the 80 's etc.
* MANY great shows in the 1980 's from Rocking Jerry Lee Lewis. The Wildest Rocker of them All !!
@ Dave Wildheart , You'll love his Performance at the 1988 show in Rome. Superb !!
He definitely was a real wild child. Amazing that he was the last man standing of the million dollar quartet.
That was awesome, now I'll be grinning all day!
(Looking forward to Phil Keaggy)
Haha, I gotta boost Phil up the list!
@@DaveWildheart However good you think he might be, he's multiples better.

Mickey Gilley was his cousin and learned on the same piano
Televangelist Jimmy Swaggert was also their cousin and played piano.
Bravo amico 👍
He makes the piano playing look easy.
Dave Davies on the right
When he was younger he would kick the piano bench across the stage and bop his head until his hair was in his eyes
Haha, what a guy

Phil Chen, Rod Stewart's bassist!
👍
This looks like when he was older. Not quite as wild then.
Brother you need to react to Danny Gatton “Sleepwalk” Melody and solo Right now!
He’s one of the greatest unknown guitarist Ever.
Thanks for the recommendation. It son the list now!
@ holy shit! I actually can’t wait for that video. You gotta subscriber for that one
Btw I have TONS of other songs/bands/performances to recommend
I never got over the fact that in his 20s me married his 13 yr old cousin
Oh, yeah that is a bit of a red flag...
Not only that he was still married to someone else at the time.😂
ruclips.net/video/aaq-xhyJqSQ/видео.htmlsi=-SjKhVtKYVPufnz7 this is one of jerry lees greatest performances, 1983, Hammersmith Odeon, London, England
Cigarettes rolled up in his left sleeve, 🚬
Love it
