She's exactly right... there's different kinds of intelligence. Penny's is an emotional intelligence. She gets people. The guys are ignorant with that. Different intelligence.
5:21 Experience IS intelligence. If you experience something often, you DO become very intelligent about it.

Regarding the Penny/intelligence/average person debate, Tania is 100% correct. While the guys have incredible book smarts, Penny has street smarts.

While the guys have a lot more scientific intelligence, I’d say they lack the emotional intelligence. That’s where Penny comes in 😄 Especially social skills 😂

I have a solution to the Flash problem, and I'm a little surprised Sheldon and the others didn't figure it out by themselves. The Big Bang Theory was running from the year 2007, which means that by that time, there were already 4 versions of Flash in the DC universe: Jay Garrick (the first Flash), Barry Allen (arguably the most well-known), Wally West and Bart Allen (who had his debut in May 2006)

Yeah but they were all dressed as Barry Allen/Flash. Jay Garrick, Wally West and Bart Allen have different costumes.

As others have said, Penny is smart. As she's already started revealing, she is a Midwest farm girl. She was not encouraged to get an education but rather attract a man and get married. Throughout the series, she learns a lot from hanging around these guys. Also, when the series starts, she is 21 and over the next few years, she matures a lot.

You're calling Penny unintelligent after you just made a list of all kinds of characters...forgetting the TITLE of the episode. 🤦‍♀Yes, Penny is STREET SMART, not BOOK SMART, she's very able.😉

As you go through the series, you discover that Penny grows up and with that comes emotional intelligence and even some academic intelligence. In turn, the guys become more emotionally intelligent. Penny and the guys complete each other lol.

Penny and Sheldon have an amazing chemistry and rapport throughout the series.

I wholeheartedly disagree. In the real world, people like Leonard are the abundant majority whereas you'd be hard pressed to find some like Penny's ex who is all muscle. Out of the people I know, men who work out and take care of their physique are much more "intelligent" and aware of themselves than ones who do not. Also my experience has been that people with good looking bodies, are usually the ones more attractive on the inside.

Hey! I really love your channel and your reactions, and I've seen you reacted to "The impossible" which is an amazing film by J. A. Bayona. I don't know if you take any recommendations but there is this new film by the same director that is based on true events as well. It is called "Society of the snow" and it happened to people of my home country. If you do decide to watch this film i recommend you do it in it's original language (spanish) with english subtitles instead of the dubbed version, that way you can truly appreciate the actors performances. Thank you so much for reading this :)

I lived with a doctor for about 5 years, I was her nanny, and she was insanely intelligent, but lacked common sense in a lot of ways. It's interesting how that can happen.

The more you watch the show, you'll see that the Penny and Sheldon relationship grows into one of the best buddy/buddy "sister"/"brother" relationships in television history.

It's not that Raj doesn't have to say anything to attract a girl it's that he's incapable of saying something stupid and driving them away Leonard continuosly gets in his own way by overthinking things Every thing Howard says comes straight from the worst possible sources of relationship advice and Sheldon has zero interest in participating in relationships outside of his comfort zone.

Yeah..Penny may not be a genius or super intelligent, but she is more experience in social skills and is your classic ordinary/average person. So when you kind of went on about how there’s nothing in her head or mocking her reactions when she doesn’t understand what the guys are telling her. It kind of got me upset because, you should be a little more understanding of Penny too. In earlier seasons she’s not interested in the same things the guys like, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t take time to understand them. She’ll listen to them even if Sheldon insults her, she takes it and gives him Penny sass/sarcasm as well. When you have such characters like the Big Bang Theory, you need another character that is relatable or your average person to help ground and balance the main characters. Penny does that for the show and it’s needed. Just like any other tv show there is character growth/development. So, your opinion might change the more you watch the show.

Also survival with smarts has always been the case although in modern times it’s linked more with opportunities you can bring in for yourself, a lot of people work labour jobs because it was needed in the community or they didn’t have the chance to really do anything else that they may have wanted and many also work them just because they like it 🤷‍♂️

  • @Saber23

People who are strong but less intelligent aren’t “less evolved” then people who are academically intelligent lol 😂 this isn’t being “honest” it’s just straight up wrong humans have always had the same intelligence we do now, it’s just that our ancestors didn’t always have the resources to build mega cities and such look at most of the native Americans, they certainly weren’t stupid they were just isolated from the rest of the world and didn’t have pack animals to transfer things long distances, I think Leonard meant that the world would end if all guys were frail, sickly and cowardly lol
