- Steelmage enters the most restrictive mode Path of Exile has seen to date. This alpha preview of the mode has an extremely restrictive ruleset for only the most hardcore of participants.

I'm so glad I can just watch 10 minutes here and there to see ruthless progression and don't have to force myself through it.

This gamemode is for people that don't force themselves. For you it's better to play trade league
This mode makes the campaign part of the game again. Not just a chore to complete
Playing hard mode reveals what we already know about the base campaign… it’s really good.
Looks great, reminds me of Diablo 2
Not the "hardest" of modes, if anything it's not even harder than any gauntlet. Slogfest mode though? Sure. Campaign feels 2x slower but then suddenly maps have less pack size (maps don't get pack size, just quant) and that's a big issue in normal when you're trying to complete yellow/red maps and get overwhelmed by mobs. Not the case in ruthless.
PainArrive a belt with 16% rez gonna feel amazing to upgrade to in yellow maps

This is the reason why Diablo 2 is still so fun for me to this day, I could find a random magic ring on the ground that rolls MF prefix/suffix and it's got more magic find than any other ring in the game. In modern PoE that shit is filtered out halfway thru act 1. I'm all about Ruthless mode

They have disabled the ability to farm it.

@@nofiox31 it would defeat the purpose of the limited gem/item drops. The entire purpose is to massively slow down and reduce the power of the player by restricting upgrades making the game harder and slower.

Looks like hardcore with even more logout macro. Loot just looks like kalandra league though lol
Imo it's not "HC" without a logout timer. Pretty chicken sh** way to play when you can instantly logout the second you get scared.
