Hey! The flex when braking is not due to the steering arm flexing. It's actually flexing the frame and fork, and it twists to the unsupported left side (since the right side is buttressed by the steering arm). You can fix this with a cable steering system (like on the yuba Supermarché) but then you loose precision in everyday riding, and they need way more maintenance (new cables every year). Nice video!
Great review! I saw 'this bike' (so similar) parked in Milan, wow, interested so I took photos of it sitting there. Soonafter I saw the same bike fly by and I did not get a shot. This video will help me to find and build what I want!!
Nice work. I'm looking to add a battery similar to what you did. Any tips on making a mount like yours? Did you CAD and mill the parts? Any chance of posting the CAD files? Thanks!
propagandaBC cyclophilosophy I have a 250W front hub motor. Max output is 600W. I now have 4250km on this motor with no issues at all. So I am very happy with it.
The frame is 47cm wide and 72cm long at the bottom of the loading area. My self made cargo box is 50cm wide and 70cm long at the bottom and 60cm wide and 77cm at the top of the sides.
Team Skovhugger Well, it's an expensive bike, that's true. Especially if you plan to use it only ever now and then. I decided to get this bike because I wanted to minimize the use of a car in life. I use the bike for 80% of my personal tranportation. So when you look at it as an option to replace a car or avoid buying a second car for your family, the bike suddenly seems very affordable. Maybe not so much just looking at the purchase cost, but even more so when thinking of maintenance cost. If you are on Facebook, please join a group called Bullit Universal Owners. There you will find much more information than I can provide here. And also people who use their bikes for a wide variety of purposes.
Wow a bike with a price tag like that and it flexes to the left when breaking ? Then this bike is not for me , what if you have cargo or the kids on the bike and you break ?
I've got 5200km on the bike now and don't notice the flex anymore. No reliability issues so far with anything related to the frameset. In the summer we went bike touring with the family and I hade the bike fully loaded up to the max load of 180kg. It handled that well, too.
holy shit, thank you so much for doing this. it is so hard to find videos on this bike.

Hi, just wondering where did you purchase the front brake cable?👍
your vids are great.
looking at the wheels the inside spoke should face forward not back
I may have missed it in the video, but what fenders did you use?
Thanks!
Great exactly what i wanted to know! Tell me how big is the bed/loading area?
