Have you had any issues with the Bafang motor sitting too low on the frame with impact against any objects? I was thinking about doing the same thing on a Yuba Supermarche.
so rarely that it's never been an issue. the only time i had it touch the ground was when i pushed it down steep stairs and the rear tire was still on the top end of the stairs.
To clarify, what does 'opening the motor' due with regards to fitting it on the bottom bracket? If it's a simple bolt or or even small filing that's cake. Did you have to get a different chain ring for alignment?
Any slippage of the motor on the frame? I'm worried that the crankset bracket won't dig into the frame as rotational movement of the motor at the crankset is a known problem on BBSHD builds.
Where I live we're pretty much under water for 6 months out of the year. Have you put your setup through a lot of rain for extended periods of time? How did the battery and motor handle it?
so far it's looking good. ive been riding it through quite some rain. at home it's sitting outside with only a raincover. i haven't looked into the motor yet but it's been running for almost 2000km now and seems fine. about the battery i would worry even less than about a motor. it's also easier to waterprotect.
it's far from looking healthy :) but when im in highest gear (smallest sprocket) it's good. only the lowest two gears (biggest sprockets) dont want to be used too much.
If ya would have just used a BBS02 in place of the HD you would have a bicycle that can be ridden like a bike, on class 1 bike paths and that would have all the rights of a bicyclist rather than someone that needs tags and a license to operate legally. The funny thing is that everything being equal with the right gearing you can't tell much of difference between 750W and 1000W. I will pick a bike I can ride anywhere that bikes are allowed over an electric motorcycle 10 out of 10 times, but I'm a bike rider, not someone anonymous idiot on youtube trying to make pennies and thumb-up.
hi. i think concerning the legality it doesnt make a difference as soon as its over 250W. I've used the BBS02 on another conversion. its the same motor just without the cooling fins and an ESC that can handle less current.
you could get a Lekki narrow-wide chainring made for bafang motors it fixes the chainline issue
Yes! I got a "Lekkie Bling Ring PRO 42T for BBSHD" last summer and havent had a chain drop since

Beautiful bike and project !

i didnt do any changes to the motor. i took out some bolts to take apart the motor just a bit to fiddle it in the bracket, then put back in the screws
Hi,
Can you do a follow up review on your BullItt. ?
yes :) ruclips.net/video/WOfHDgyN7z8/видео.html

yes i had to retighten it 2-3 times but it's been sitting very firm for a long time now.
Hi, just wondering any modifications to fit bafang to bottom bracket?👌🏿
nope. only opened the motor a bit during installation
Hi! I have same bike with 250 watt and would like more power! What top speed do you reach easy without draining the battery too fast?
30-40km/h are no problem over a longer period of time. I think the topspeed is around 50 but i rarley go faster than 35

Did the motor fit to the frame? It looks like I need to cut about 2-3 mm to get it to fit?
זיו רייש i had to open the Motor to fit it. But no cutting
youser23 thanks!, it’s either opening the motor or to grind 2-3 m”m .
I chose the second, will post after the complete assembly.
@@youser23 Is it tedious to open the motor then reattach? How difficult was the whole installation?
@@akbararief577 it wasn't too much of a hassle. Definitely doable.
@@youser23 How easy? Are you just dealing with a couple of screws off, then putting it back on? I really want to do a build exactly like yours
Great setup! Congrats!
How did you get the motor into the BB? On mine the motor housing is hitting, do I have to take the motor apart to get it on? Thanks!
yes i opened it just a bit, installed it and closed it again.
@@youser23 Oj great because I watched a video of taking the motor ALL the way apart and was NOT looking forward to doing that LOL
Hi, I'm about to do the same to my bullitt. What size chain ring did you go for?
i think it was the largest one that could be ordered with it. not sure about the number of teeth
Hello there: Great project! How much did you spend all in all? Which brand/type of battery packs? Thank you for replying.
Thank you. It wasnt cheap. probably 4-5k. right now im using a pack of 196 (14x14) 18650 cells, shown in my other video
Really nice! I hope you are still putting a bunch of kilometers on it. Have you upgraded the battery yet?
i am :) i just received some 18650 cells to build a battery but missing the time to do it :/
How is you chain line? I've got precisely the same group-set and BBSHD, but the chain line is far from ideal...
it's far from looking healthy :) but when im in highest gear (smallest sprocket) it's good. only the lowest two gears (biggest sprockets) dont want to be used too much.
I just ordered the Luna Eclipse Chainring... let’s see how it works...
nice. tell me if you like it.
@youser23 did you get The MT5e with open or closed contact?
closing contact is what you need for the bafang 4:57
