Nice! Honestly though abusing a member of the peerages household staff in that noble's own home would be a bigger embarrassment than getting your daughter rejected. Such actions would lead to a bothersome reputation for anything the royal family would do.
@kapitan19969838 Two concepts. Maids and other staff are part of the nobility's household, and it's seen in poor taste generally speaking to be abusive to your staff. Not just as a matter of character as it informs a lot of how that noble is going to be, but also as a matter of practicality. Not that most nobles are buddy buddy with their staff mind you, but generally how a good officer is to the men and women under his command. The nobility is called "peerage" for a reason, they're supposed to be the king's peers. Not quite equal to the king but they're supposed to show respect and be given respect. If a king or their child, disrespects a noble it's seen as a massive scandal. So a princess, a daughter of the king, abusing and threatening the staff of a member of the peerage, while in the manor of said noble no less, would be the equivalent of the wife of a brigadier general beating and threatening to have the staff of a colonel fired. One not her place, two not her base, and three it creates distrust and chaos in the chain of command since not only has she gone over to someone else's staff but it also implies her husband is weak and has no control over her
@@gasmonkey1000 Wow! Thanks for the detailed response. To be frank, I wrote this story mainly with the focus on the different personalities between the princesses and maid (speaker) are. The princess is able to maintain a two-face personality while the maid is so honest she struggles to lie. That way the maid came a bit more sympathetic. I also added the backstory to illustrate just how close the character was to the listener. Most of my scripts aren't meant to be specific to any time period or setting since I want the story to be accessible to any listener, no matter where they are from. That being said, it's always good to know some historical facts and I'll try to keep that in mind next time I write a similar script. Thank you so much for the feedback and I hope you enjoyed the audio.
@Lalo_Lunara Oh damn didn't think you'd show up man. You did great with this one! The maid came off as very sympathetic since most staff probably would be hesitant to share the info in such a situation, nevermind Dubious' acting. Can't wait to see more of your work.
"Fate is patient. I could see the princess and the king satisfied, not to mention my father. I could bide my time, and protect you with wealth... But that just doesn't sit right with me. So fate be damned, and privelages revoked... I SHALL protect you. But as a man. Not a noble's son, or a princess' lapdog. Burn away my name... May it be cast from memory. For yours is all that matters to me now."
The way that Doobie can voice act a maid and an empress both so well is super impressive.
