  • Unbiased real life test of my new Watersnake Geo-Spot GPS with Nav Sensor. Strong winds and tide currents give this electric motor a fair test in real practical fishing conditions. Can it hold its position? Includes some live underwater camera shots of Whiting, Mullet, Tommy Rough and Garfish that were chilling out whilst catching some King George Whiting. Nav sensor with the jog function is tested out in windy sea conditions.

    I have just put the same 65lb motor on my Seadoo fishpro jetski. I have a total of 140 ah and used it for 3 1/2 hrs on level 6 trolling. The battery dropped from 12.7 volt to 12.2 volt. Very pleased with it, great motor.

    Now that you have had this for a while how do you find it? Do you find the anchor lock keeps you in place with a bit of a breeze?

      Still works well, strong breeze and current holds great, it doesn't like swirling currents and winds that try and spin the boat, happy so far.

      @@coasttocountryaustralia Sounds like its quite good, I think my fishing is similar to yours. Mostly whiting fishing hopping sand holes, some squid and gar fishing so a motor like this might be suitable

    I’m struggling to make the decision between one of these or a Minn-kota. Is there really a $1100 difference between the two?

    • @coasttocountryaustralia
      @coasttocountryaustralia  Год назад +1

      I went for the more affordable option and am happy with it so far there was a big difference in price but the Minn-kota are supposed to be good too.

      Motorguide leave minn kota for dead unless you step upto the 3-4k mark .. nothing but trouble with the lower end models .. but the Motorguides in tje same price bracket are bulletproof.. and the gps is spot on and they are quiet

    What battery did you get? And how long does it last?

      Hi, I'm currently using a second hand battery I had at the farm thats 8 years old, its a deep cycle lead acid 100ah and is lasting at least 3hrs in windy conditions. I will get a lithium one when it dies. Cheers

    Quality & service are major issues on other units. Why would this be different.
