Looking good darrell....I am jealous....I love tower and antenna projects, and to be honest, I like the project and building time as much or more than the operating of the station, hi hi Couple questions.... i thought Heights Towers were all only aluminum?? And, are you going to use some cold galvanizing on the tower before it's put up? 73 WD9M
This is a Trylon tower and it is galvanized steel. I'm not sure if any of their towers are aluminum. This is a commercial grade tower. I think it started out as an internet tower. I did think about painting it before I put it up. But, I decided not to do any painting on it. I talked to Trylon and they told me that all parts are available for it and I could replace any bad parts. Of course that may require bring the tower back down to do it. I really can't wait to get it up. 73
ok...rgr on the trylon.. I had thought you said it was a Heights...my mistake. I have used Rustoleum brand cold galvanizing in spray cans with good results, plus have used it with a brush on an 120ft rohn SSV series tower. I likely wouldnt apply it to your tower either, as it would be real pretty expensive and that tower is heavy duty anyway... Did you snag it locally? I like the design of the tower and top plates. I've been trying to get you on 145.130 analogue, but cant catch you I guess. 73 @@Darrell_Coquillette

I'm not sure were it was installed originally, but I got it from a local ham. The 145.310 repeater is running in C4FM mode. @@jamesbrown-m5q
