Have opened many no key payphone by simply using my drill press and drilling out the lock tumbler complete. Easy peasy and zero damage to the phone. What a waste.
Another absotively awesome video. You both are incredibly interesting and fun to watch. Your dad is precious. HUGS and blessings for you and your family. 👍🔥hello from NY State 🏞
My next door neighbor worked coin routes for Bell over 20 years, frequently he would break off keys in the locks on the older phones & he had a 90 degree phone company drill with grinding bits to take the old locks out with, not quite as fast but all you have to replace is the lock not the entire phone. Good video tho...
That was really awesome 😎! You should get a silver face plate for the one ☝🏻 you just took off, and put it in your house 🏡 for a pice to look at! I think old phones like that are really cool 😎!
Found a better way. Screwdriver/ wedge + sledgehammer. The lock and metal plates are a harder metal than the hardware used to bolt the lock on. That and theh only use 2 bolts. So it was easy enough to just stripped the bolt and pop lock out of the way enough for t key to work.
it would have been so much easier just to get a locksmith to pick the locks, because then you would have had a great working phone to hang on your wall
I collect payphones, too bad that one got destroyed, but it was one of the less collectible newer ones at least. I wish I was in your area, I could help you get into some of that locked stuff! :D
Hi, I actually have a small phone collection but so far I have no pay phones, the question I have is I don’t see why he cut around the vault door, my guess is that he wanted to save the vault door? Seems stupid because he ended up cutting the vault door too, I am thinking about getting a couple locked pay phones and that’s what I was wondering. My dad has a saw like this so I can eailsy cut open the vault door, but I am not really looking for money-money is just a bonus for me what I would like to do is give it some more “love” like if the handsets broken replace that. Too be honest with you I think it too much time picking the locks, I am probably going to cut the vault door and for the upper housing I am going to remove the ring of the lock and then cut all levers in lock and then totally remove the lock. And yes it was a waste for that Payphone, and I kinda think it was newer because it didn’t say bell system made by western electric, either way it’s still a Payphone but it seems maybe 1990s, or early 2000s?
tehbackmaskr it’s not awesome he hates his job ik my dad has the same job he works so hard like leaves 3 am in morning comes back at 3 am next day no sleep nothing and he works soooo hard he gets payed well but it’s a hard job
@@wonderplatypusgetthedog8634 Hence what would make it such an exciting TV/Web show. It's an unusual job most people don't even realize exists. It could showcase all of it, from the hardships to the long days of little to no payout, to those exciting big paydays...
I remember Pay phones. I used to collect money out of them at a mall a few years ago. well like 15 years ago. After awhile, they got rid of them one day out of the blue. Some where i still have the keys for them. They didnt ask for the keys back. They just told me they got rid of them.
It’s too bad you took the lazy way out to get the money. You could’ve had a locksmith open it and make keys for you. The money inside probably would’ve paid for that then you could’ve sold the phone on eBay for about $350 since he would have keys for it.
Cool find if the money falls in there right it'll hold $250 I used to work for a a private phone company had their own payphones very expensive to use unless you had the code I did
Not anymore, since the mid 2000's, all of the major phone companies have gotten out of payphones. The ones you see now are owned by private businesses that just do payphones, or by the property owner. Even most of the payphone businesses have gone under because everyone has cell phones. The former phone company owned ones were either abandoned, or sold to the private businesses. This style was never used by a local phone company.
New video coming out tomorrow or if you don’t want to wait you can watch it right now on my second channel Demolition Crew!!
Hey
Gay
did u look at the dates on some of those coins ?. i dont know how oid that phone was but there couldbe some pre 1964 coins in it
I get it's fun to get the money out, but what a shame to waste that payphone. Those sell easily for $200-$350. . . .
Yeah

Yeah. But it's not where you're going, it's the journey there.

Lol! 😂

LOL! I can see the sparkle in your dad's eye when he cranked up that saw! Great find!! :)
Pay phone worth about $300 to $600. In good working order and locksmith can make a key for 8 bucks.
Your a lucky person to have a dad like him finding all that money in a lot of things.
Hello AES! Awesome video as always! Have a great evening! Be safe! God bless!
This video makes so much cents
Good one!

Cool you guys be safe out there nice videos every time
Your dad IS a total badass.
Very very badass
The phone was worth more than the loot
That's what I was thinking. Why trash a piece of history?
That phone was in way good condition. Was worth about $300 to $400.
Drill the center 1/4 -1/8 " in & it'll pry right open. We demoed some buildings and that's how we did it.
or you could have drilled out the lock, opened it with a T key and sold the phone for $$

$150-$200 resale for the phone to a collector, I have one in my arcade that I hooked up to a VOIP
Check coin dates for errors. So much more value for old coins than to send em to bank
Your dad is bad ass bro!! Absolutely love the videos thanks y'all 🤜
Unbelievable no one ever knew that money is still in it interesting amazing
it would have been so much easier just to get a locksmith to pick the locks, because then you would have had a great working phone to hang on your wall

What you can destroy more and get more money.
I'm saying there's at least about 235 or so. Give or take
Imagine if that had a paint grenade or something similar that went off when he popped the metal thing off in case thieves tried opening it:D
Pay phone was good way to make calls and that money left behind
If u sale like vintage phone u get more than 150$ but now is broken :)))
Dude your so right....dad is bad ass! Check coins...older ones are silver !
That’s lot of work to get into pay phone box but overall you did good job 👍

Hi love your vids
Might think about learning how to pick locks so you could make more money by selling the items you have to break into just a thought
Cool find if the money falls in there right it'll hold $250 I used to work for a a private phone company had their own payphones very expensive to use unless you had the code I did
Love what you guys are doin, but future advice, but a vice, it'll make this whole process less painful
I thought the pay phones were always the property of the phone company.
They are.

How many were silver?
So dad is a badass
More!

Awesome vids but too many commercials...
Try to break into a park meter. See how much you will get.
I wonder if you would have gotten in trouble for this in the Bell days! (Obviously everything was signed over to you guys, but still.)

Buying a Payphone Key for $3.95 online wouldn't have been easier?

I always wanted to cut open a pay phone ty
Huge pile of cash.

No thanks I’d rather be a true fan and watch the whole video
Well i mean its for some people 😑
Should ba a few silver coins in there also.
To bad you couldn't find a locksmith
ok I AM going to take a wild guess here you guys got ten rolls of quarters and put them in the phone 1 by 1 LMSAO
Anyone else hear Living With Bobby?
90 to 110 dollars i say
You guys ever hear a coinstar?
This kind of phone sells for 300$
My dad has the same job as yours
Is it just me or did anyone think his shirt said "gay"
Dumb move. The payphone itself is worth several times the amount of coins inside.
i would0f of kept the phone the way it was. you dont see these phones anymore.
You should have had a note for headphones users
WOW
I wonder how many 90% Silver Quarters were in there...…..;
Lock on the side
A few women with pmt will get that open, no problem.
