Did I miss something? I know how mixing valves work, and I know how other brand's boosters work (at least Rheem's). This video's title and opening seconds says it's about a booster, but the rest of the video is all about a mixing valve, and it never says how the booster fits in. Am I wrong? I realize mixing valves also boost hot water output, but mixing valves aren't the same as boosters. What is the small tank ~above the main tank in this video?
Or is Rheem's booster just a mixing valve in disguise? I don't think so. It says it allows for a tank-tankless hybrid - it is a mini-tankless - one which shares the same electrical supply as the tank.

They arent calling it a booster heater. That other tank is an expansion tank.
