    I think the pace you are going at is perfect. Why anyone would want to skip past a winning season is beyond me. Throw in the fact that there are some young prospects already called up to watch as well, and it makes sense to pay attention more.

    I personally think ppl that want a quick rebuild where we skip seasons just don’t want this kinda content and that’s fine. But this is a good pace. I’m just sad that you came in with the preconceived notion that they are bad and didn’t give them a chance. Trying to win it all the first year or at least compete then seeing the fallout after would have been an interesting change of pace. But to trade the mvp front runner in the first 20 games of the season is just insane. Imagine how this team would be doing with goldy. The team was built as a veteran core to compete this year and I wish you would have honored thag

    • @paulkollars6667
      @paulkollars6667 6 месяцев назад +4

      The team wasn't exactly competing in those first 20 games and to try saying this team was built to compete is kind of laughable looking at the rotation. It's highly unlikely even with adding another good rotation arm that this team could make a playoff run. I'm not saying blow it up now and unload all the veterans, it's certainly reasonable to sit on guys like Gray and Arenado for another year, but I understand why Cane would want to move Goldy early while he's hot and not risk him dropping significantly in production and overall as the season goes on.

    • @jaybeer3126
      @jaybeer3126 6 месяцев назад

      What makes you believe that they were good? They were bad last year. Obviously they want to keep a competitive team and they traded for most of their best players so they're not going to blow it up especially when they're not going to get really good value for older players. This team is not built to compete with the Dodgers, Padres, and Braves. It makes perfect sense to trade Goldschmidt when he has the biggest possibility of diminishing as an asset because he's 39. He made a fine assessment especially considering their struggling in real life

    • @tylerfrancis9824
      @tylerfrancis9824 6 месяцев назад +3

      @@jaybeer3126 completely disagree. No team would ever trade their star in the first month. No matter how bad things are going. It’s wholly unrealistic. Especially when you have a shot in a bad division to make the playoffs. Playoff revenue alone is worth keeping him, regardless of WS aspirations if we wanna talk real life. Not to mention do we thing the Dbacks were “better” than the dodgers padres and braves, maybe not but they made the series. Because they got hott at the right time. Hence why you don’t give up on the first month. If you get to June July and it’s bad sure go for it, trade the stars. But literally no team would ever do that in april

    • @jaybeer3126
      @jaybeer3126 6 месяцев назад

      @@tylerfrancis9824 you obviously wouldn't trade your star player within the first month of the season but this is a video game where regression is crazy. You lose so much value if you wait. The team is in no man's land so it's an understandable decision.
      Comparing this team to the Diamondbacks when their pitching staff isn't even in the same universe. Most of the hitters outside of the Stars are bad. You're kind of grasping at straws. The team is average at best and they don't have the necessary skills to compete on the biggest stage.

    Here’s my ideal mlb franchise series pacing: 4-5 episodes of the first season because they suck, 12-14 episodes because things are looking okay, 12-14 for the next two seasons and 15-20 for the remainder of the series.

    Legendary Cardinals Manger Whitey Herzog passed away this week. His 80’s teams wore the blue uniforms. His cardinals teams were built in contact, speed, and defense. Exactly what Cane is talking about. “Whitey Ball” is a cool part of baseball history.

    SP Billy Murray has gone from a 65-99 potential, 49-83 overall player at the start of scouting to, at 95% scouted, an 80-96 potential, 64-80 overall player. Check on SP Steve Castilla when you look at Billy too. They were both in the East and should be 100% now. Steve was starting to fall behind Billy's ranges a little, but still looked pretty good.

    I think the pacing so far has been fine. This is a little different compared to the A’s where they just sucked so it makes sense to push through the first season quickly. But This team could legit win the division year one and I don’t think with some of these younger guys in the lineup that should just be completely glossed over. I think keep this pace up if they keep doing well but if we start falling back then you should speed up.

    On the topic of building high power/speed prospects up to become good players, I once had a player, Ryan Turner, with this archetype and he won MVP and multiple championships with my franchise. The kicker, he made his MLB debut at 30, but he played well until about 36 or so. Hit about .280 for his career, multiple 40hr/30sb seasons, burned bright but quick
    Man, I love this game

    I also like K/9 cause it's really easy to conceptualize but K% is the preferred strikeout stat since you could strike out 1 batter in a 1-2-3 inning vs 1 batter in an inning where you allow 2 base-runners (and face 5 total batters) where both have a K/9 of 9, but obviously going 1-2-3 for a K% of 33% is better than only striking out one of the 5 batters you faced for a K% of 20%
    Love how the Show can give you a random decent season despite trading your best player away. That's baseball!

    Hey Cane, I haven't seen anyone else comment this but I also found it harder pitching on classic this year. I follow your guides on settings and such. I found that on classic pitching, if you hold the pitch button the entire time of the pitchers delivery, even till it hits the catchers mitt, it seems to have a better result. Also this years CPU seems to replicate hitters, they seem to chase more pitches near the edges, but mash anything over the heart of the plate. Hope this helps!

    In the show (versus the CPU), the opposing batter seems to have a higher chance to hit the ball with poor pitch timing. I grind DD against rookie CPU, if you throw a good timed, middle middle 4SFB, they will still miss it. If you throw a bad timed ball they will perfect perfect much more often. If the bad pitch timing on classic really is a bug, that could be your issue, I’d figure.

Per 9 has the issue of not facing a particular number of batters per inning, so facing 3 batters and striking 1 out or facing 30 batters and striking out one nets you the same K/9, but obviously drastically different K%

    I think the trade you made might not happen most of the time in real life, but if everything happened like we expected it then life would be pretty boring

    cane unfortunately every pitchers strikeout numbers will be super low and unrealistic. i manually went into my franchise at the beginning and boosted every pitchers K rating to reflect real life same with stolen base/stealing and steal aggressive rating. without it a guy like Acuna will only end up with like 25 steals just an FYI it’s a lot of but it does make the game more enjoyable in my opinion

    I think you should still trade Gibson even with how well he has played and how well things are going. Chances are his play won't last, and he's on an expiring contract. Even if it does last through the end of the year, will it carry on next year with regression? It's highly unlikely. I'd get what you can for him while he's hot. I would keep guys like Arenado and Gray since they have multiple years, it doesn't need to be a full cast off because of the play. I just think trading Gibson makes too much sense.

    I know with all the football it's hard but your baseball content is my favorite I've begged you to do hockey but atleast give some exciting announcing in baseball like Twins and Rockies I noticed you lowered your excitement on baseball

    Check out Kyle Lewis. He should be a cheap free agent. But he only plays outfield.
