I was generally impressed when I visited Vancouver for the first time in late September. I had just one day to really walk and drive around, but I particularly love the pedestrian-friendly downtown area (I've mentioned previously that I love a walkable downtown, especially after living near downtown Santa Barbara for five years). I am hoping to interview for an upcoming senior living community in 2023, so I would also like to see the feasibility of driving to Mt. Hood for skiing. Although I at the exploratory stage, I really like the area for its combination of a walkable downtown and lots of outdoor recreation!

do you help with people who want to move to Vancouver but looking for a rental first? Me and my wife is planning to move there.

Hi There! Thank you so much for watching and commenting 🙂 In this area of the country, there is no central system for rentals or a way for realtors or other 3rd party reps to help on a rental search, so I will not be able to help sadly. You will want to look directly at property management sites and for rent by landlord listings.

Any recommendations on when NOT to come to the area? Like when there is some kind of events that would jack up the hotel price, or make it impossible to book a room at the last minute?

Not really. I would guess that summer is busier and more expensive than the rest of the year, but I would not let that stop you from coming, as it's beautiful here in the summer.
