    Love your statement that the kids won’t remember the toys they had as kid but they will remember the places they have been. I have long subscribed to this theory when people would comment that we lived in a half finished house but were always taking holidays out with the kids.
    My reaction would always be to say that I can’t tell you what colour my bedroom was as a kid but I can always remember travelling as a kid and what colour the tent was. Keep doing what you do

    Well done guys. Bloody Toyota! They just don't think about the needs of us Aussie folks who travel long distances in the bush. My 2001 patrol has a main tank and a sub tank that gives me 1000 km range when I'm fully loaded up with my camping setup. ( 2800 kg)

    Nice video guys. My 76 is now 12 years old and engine/exhaust is stock standard. We picked up our 18.6 hardcore in Mayand so far we have averaged between 19.5😢 and 22 lhk, so pretty happy with that, although a bit slow on the hills. Maybe a bigger exhaust will have to go in. A shout out to the guys at Longranger, ours developed a leak from the top forward corner of the tank well outside the warranty period. I took it up to them in Newcastle and they removed the tank, welded a repair and refitted the tank free of charge. 8 years later and still going strong. The 76 has now done nearly 200k and been through all the deserts of Australia and to my memory has not once let me down. Happy travelling guys.

    For the tune keep in mind Diesel Power Unlimited on Mackay - I’ll be taking our 200 up there when I’m finished the build as Cookie is probably one of the best tuners on the east coast ! Found him via TIV on their first 200! Never missed a beat!
    Mate, I was waiting for the wife to plant a big kiss on you in that final minute… looking at you with all that love ❤️ 💕❤️💕

    Awesome videos and great channel! Love the rawness of the videos.
    Will you need to consider underbody protection?
    Does the tank need any additional protection also?
    Or if that if you plan to go heavy into the trails
    Cheers from Melbourne

      Thanks so much. The Ranger was pretty well protected from factory (we've since sold it and bought a Landcruiser). The tank is also pretty durable and tucked away, we didn't have any issues. Cheers

    If you want to give it a bit more power install a DP Chip we have one on our 200 and gives you about 25% more power and torque and does not change the factory map so if ever you need to you can take if off and it goes back to factory. Keeps your warranty.

    Would you have got a 2.8L 76 if you’d known that were coming out?
    Looks like they’re running rings around the V8s in every aspect.

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  7 месяцев назад

      I had the option. I wanted the V8. It was a big reason for buying the 76 in the first place. Stoked with it.

    another awesome episode. I was a bit surprised to hear about the tank(s). So the 76 only has a single 130L tank? Which you've upped to a 180L now. Our (very old) 105 series has the original 90L + a 180L 2nd tank.
    Seems quite odd for Toyota to limit the capacity like that. Sadly that now takes the 76 series off our future 105 replacement list. Looks like we're left with a used 200 series or a Troopy. We can add a 180L tank as a 2nd tank to both.

      Thanks guys. It's one of the compromises of the smaller wagon and short wheel base I guess.

    Booked in next week for the long range tank on the Navara , I’m not sure why but a Nav is speced at 80lt but ours has only 60lts which probably won’t be an issue until you hook up a van . While it’s there it’ll get mirrors and Idrive, we just got done for the mirrors in the middle of nowhere,a fine of $340 hurt but finally made me bight the bullet and get the mirrors fitted,it’ll teach me to not be a cheap bastard, it’s just a $1k fitted for a bloody mirror is mind blowing. ❤️🙏👁️👁️😎😇🐕‍🦺

    Appreciate your money saving tips.
    But buying Milk and bread from a servo is way more expensive than supermarkets.
    Yes, you’re getting the fuel cheaper, and then getting a bottle of Milk and Bread, but the idea is to get the 4c off to bring the fuel down.
    Grab milk from the supermarket to get your next fuel voucher.

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  3 месяца назад

      It depends how much fuel you're buying. We're normally filling 150ltrs or more. Spending $20 at the servo save us 10c/litre which is a $15 saving on the fuel purchase, this more than makes up for the inflated price on milk & bread and works out much cheaper than buying it at the supermarket. This discount can be combined with the 4c/ltr saving from doing your other groceries and any other discounts you might have.

    Got a 120 litre Long Ranger fuel tank in our Defender and its excellent. Gives us a range of about 950 kms in the Defender, which only uses about 13 l/100kms.
    It is possible to add another 35 litre tank for a total of 155 litres.
    Feel sorry for anyone chewing through diesel at 20 l/100kms.
