    Too good! Been planning the exact build for a few months now. I like the exterior! I was going to try and avoid using glue and silicone though. I figured those might react with heat

    • @leids6990
      @leids6990  Год назад +1

      Thanks! I was told the glue won’t react below 120 Celsius and the silicone is good for temperature over 250 Celsius. My sauna is ranging between 70C and 90C. They may not have been necessary but I have a habit of building things stronger than they need to be so when I have the bright idea to flip my whole project on it’s side to insulate the bottom it does break haha

      Use it a few times a week since it was built and love it. Only change I can think of - I would’ve sloped the L shaped pieces holding the glass in in place so water wouldn’t collect on them

    Do you have air flow in your sauna. You need proper ventilation to avoid stale air and a co2 buildup that will give you headaches.

    Bottom of glass'll be a pooling point given large delta T of glass faces. PVA at sauna temps loses around 50% of it's bonding strength and is subject to creep. A volumetric change given moisture and temperature has most modern sauna's screwed together to maintain joint strength. I guess your neighbor might be an engineer, you clearly have strong construction skills.

    • @leids6990
      @leids6990  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks! You were right about the pooling, a sloped piece would have been much better.
