Too good! Been planning the exact build for a few months now. I like the exterior! I was going to try and avoid using glue and silicone though. I figured those might react with heat
Thanks! I was told the glue won’t react below 120 Celsius and the silicone is good for temperature over 250 Celsius. My sauna is ranging between 70C and 90C. They may not have been necessary but I have a habit of building things stronger than they need to be so when I have the bright idea to flip my whole project on it’s side to insulate the bottom it does break haha
I like it. I’m looking to attempting on a sauna build myself this summer. Any updates on the sauna after using it for a while. Maybe things you would have done differently. Thanks again
Use it a few times a week since it was built and love it. Only change I can think of - I would’ve sloped the L shaped pieces holding the glass in in place so water wouldn’t collect on them
I love this build. I am interested in building one myself. I have been remodeling my home so it might be on the back burner for a while. But, since it’s been 7 months from when you uploaded this video… Could you please provide an update?
Thank you@@leids6990! That is very helpful. While I would like to router all of my pieces like you did, understanding the real hours will help me decide where my plan needs to give.
Bottom of glass'll be a pooling point given large delta T of glass faces. PVA at sauna temps loses around 50% of it's bonding strength and is subject to creep. A volumetric change given moisture and temperature has most modern sauna's screwed together to maintain joint strength. I guess your neighbor might be an engineer, you clearly have strong construction skills.
Omg what is that? There is so many things that is so wrong. First airflow, second never ever sit under the stove. The bench where you sitting, your feet must be same level like the stove.
@@steverct maybe you dont know, how to bath in finnish sauna. (And there is so many stories to avoid) but it is nice that you have nice time. (But no eaven near Finnish sauna, sorry.
Dude? WTF? i was all in until the ending.....I thought you show it in full action with a couple of honeys that you still keep in touch from high school. Total let down. You have to market your channel better, that could have been the money shot. Still sick build girlfriend.
I'm only halfway through to the part where you tipped the sauna to get at the floor -- instant thumbs up! Love your honesty and great craftsmanship!
Thank you!!
Awesome build brother and thanks for the ideas.
Thanks. Good luck with the build!
@@leids6990 Amen!
Cool shape. Got my sub on the 2x4 "SNAP". That's when I knew we had something in common.

Excellent Work. God Bless You
Thank you! You too!
Great video and slick craftmanship!
Thanks!
Can you do a video tutorial on your mitre saw set up? That was slick 😎
Some crispy angles, love it
Glad you like them!
Don't know what's hotter the sauna or the video 🔥

Killer build and great video. Thanks for sharing! Please plant some more trees in your back yard.
Thanks! Haha yes it’s looking a little bare
Love the design!
Thanks!
You should add infared red lighting.
The pentagon configuration looks like it makes a good angle for the walls to double as a built in backrest.
Yes, it worked out great!
Nice project! What kind of advantages does have this shape relative to barell?
I would say insulation and the walls are comfortable to lean back on
Little late- but man, get a respirator on when you're routing and cutting and working with cedar. Inhaling cedar dust is no joke!
Yeah you’re right I definitely should have, good call!
How many Time to build this sauna ?
Around 100 hours

But, since it’s been 7 months from when you uploaded this video… Could you please provide an update?
I love it! Everything is great so far, was awesome for winter. Only thing I would have done differently is build it sooner 😅
awesome... could you tell us how long each panel is ? 6 feet ?
About 52 inches
Nice workmanship and it looks amazing! You answered my question if I needed insulation on mine. So how many hours do you recall that this took?
Thank you! Yes the insulation makes a big difference! I would say around 60 hours across the span of a month

@@erikholmberg9062Best of luck with the project!
great sauna! can you write the sizes?
I have added some information to the description. Hope this helps.
Do you have air flow in your sauna. You need proper ventilation to avoid stale air and a co2 buildup that will give you headaches.
I do, just forgot to record it
Beautiful! What do you estimate the cost?
@@shawnvogs $6500
Very good job, how big is this sauna so i can make one. Thank you
Thanks! The benches are 6ft long and the Floor to centre of ceiling measures about 7ft
@leids6990 thank you very much
What were the dims of your 2x4 framing pieces?
59 inches (150 cm) 36 degree cuts
What are the dimensions on your pentagon? Great video!
Thanks! I cut my 2x4’s for the frame at 60 inches(1.524 metres) on the long side
Electrical outlet inside a sauna... that's a first 🤣
What size(kw) heater did you use for this ?
9kw

Thanks! You were right about the pooling, a sloped piece would have been much better.
He is German so engineering comes natural haha
Dont use glues inside the sauna
Is your neighbor Tim Allen?
Thought he looked familiar
interesting video. The music is annoying, too loud, I could not finish watching the video

I built a sauna years ago similar shape and style. Guess what? It works. Very little insulation, broke many rules. We love it, we use it.

Looks cool. But terrible design for a sauna. Better than no sauna though!!
why is it terrible?
