I learned how to make those about 15 yrs ago. I loved making them. I remember my daughter putting her feet in the pocket part to keep them warm. Brings back some great memories. Thank you for doing this.
My mom made quillows for me and my sisters for Christmas when we were little. It drove her nuts when we used the “foot pocket” because we kept ripping the pocket off🤣🤣
Whoop’s , I’ve done that also. All in a day of sewing ! Love your channel. The machine that also does the fringe is really nice. Thanks so much for taking us along.
Thank you for doing this! It is awesome. I am working on the no cut rag quilt and will use adding the pillow as you did with the birth announcement on pillow.
Jennifer- You most certainly can. I usually don’t because the stitches get locked into the seams when attaching everything. I do backstitch when I do my final stitch around the edge of the blanket.
Okay that would make sense really. Now, if you doing like a Jean with a Cotton Square would you Back Stitch?? Also would you make a Sandwich with the Cotton Square so they would be the same weight??
Delia-You would make the blanket first. You would sew the blocks and the rows together just as I have shown, the only exception will be is that you will use a 1” seam allowance so that when the quilt is all sewn, you will use the snips to clip and create the fringe on the quilt. Just like I did with the pocket. You will do the fringing by hand all over the whole quilt. 😊
1 1/8 yards for 8, 12.5 x 12.5” Squares. 1 1/8 yards for 7, 12.5 x 12.5” Squares. 1 3/4 yards for 15, 12.5 x 12.5” Squares. You will need 1/2 yard for your 15.5 x 15.5” Square for the pocket. Measurements are approximate, not exact. You will need to check based on the width of your fabric. This measurement was based on fabric at 43”.
I made my first quillow 26 yrs ago for my son. It was great.
Came out delightful, my accuquilt is like 6 inches, I will try this!

Happy Easter, Candy!
I just started watching you and I really enjoy what you do, I have always wanted to learn how make quilts
Finally I know what a quillow is lol
Such a cute quillow! Thanks for the inspiration!
I've made many quillows over the years and the older I get it's more of a workout to fold them into the pillows!
I agree! Folding them can be a bit of a challenge.
This is so beautiful I will try making one for my granddaughter
Hi from Tasmania Australia!
Hi Barbara!
it's awesome 😍😍😍
Love it
I always put my fringe to the back.
❤❤❤
Can you make this with fleece material?
How often do you replace your blades on your accuquilt? I am just trying to figure the cost over time
I was wondering if you Back Stitch at the beginning of the rows?? Then do it the Ragging. Thank You

Replay. Question - what if you don’t have a rag die? Do you piece it all together and then rag it?
I would rag the quilt after it is sewn. Rag the quillow pocket before it is attached. Less chance of cutting the quilt by accident.

@@TheCraftyAuthor - that’s what I thought. Thank you and Happy Easter
How many yards of each fabric did you use?

You are making a rag quilt ? Right ?
Brenda- Yes. It is a rag quilt that folds into a pillow. 😊
Cute. I really like this for a child.
