I just realized something. This song is from the perspective of the person who broke someone's heart, instead of the singer being the one who was broken. For example, in the original it goes like this: "Won't you tell me, oh please tell me why. You could find the words to say goodbye." In this song it's: "so why did I, why could I even say. Goodbye to the one I love." Now that's pretty cool. And poetic. Showing how both of these people are heartbroken they aren't together anymore. Truly a great cover.
