‘Couldn’t take it anymore’: Amid oxygen crisis, this Mumbai gurudwara is a lifeline

- As the country faces a raging #secondwave of #covid, healthcare systems have been stretched beyond capacity. The past few weeks have been flooded with reports of patients dying for lack of oxygen, desperate families scrambling to find oxygen cylinders and concentrators, and governments sparring over ownership of the life-saving gas.
So, citizens and communities are stepping up to plug the gaps.
“There were such terrifying reports on the news about the Covid crisis, we couldn’t take it anymore,” said Kashmir Singh, 58, a sevadhar at the Shri Guru Singh Sabha Gurudwara near #Mumbai. The gurudwara recently started distributing free mini oxygen cans and cylinders to families of Covid patients.

To editor, I would like you to read this and make a video about this topic . no media house/youtube channel is discussing about real deaths. Total deaths reported is 4000 covid deaths. total states 29. excluding uts. that will result in 137 deaths per state in a day. that is almost not even a single death/town or city considering the 2nd wave . each crematorium in delhi and mumbai has around 80-90 bodies burning a day. and how is 4000+ deaths possible? when i see each crematorium in all cities working 24 hours. the number must be around 80k as per the doctor. Please give respect to dead and these cover up numbers will be misused in future. in this case the fatality rate claimed by govt. is false.

Because you guys have more money. You North indian were recruited by Britisher because you guys had fair complexion, advocating the theory of white supremacy. Punjabis, parsis, sindhis, rajput, gujus have white tone. Since then money kept on piling up and eventually you served as business community, most generals officers comes from these communities. Your foundation were strong that's why now you are paying back to society because your basic need have already been full filled. Most of the community people's are NRIs. People who have been left, there kids got screwed with no guiding force.

I feel your pain but It's hard to find masks that fit correctly over a turban and stay up due to the shape but the bottom line is that these people are willing to lay down their lives if it means saving others. They are responsible for their brothers and sisters while taking all precautions they can.
