- I wanted to share a little more of downtown historic Fairhope and a few more views of Mobile Bay in Fairhope.

The Grand Hotel at Point Clear is an absolute gorgeous historical hotel which was built in 1847.
During the 1860's during the Civil War this hotel was used as a Confederate Hospital.

We didn't stay here but we did thoroughly enjoy viewing the grounds and hopefully get to go back with our retired educator's discount!

I would love to live in a little town like that. I love old homes. The hotel had it all, it would be a nice place to stay, but not at 900.00 dollars. Such beautiful scenery I know it was hard to leave. Thank you again for taking us along I so enjoyed this. Blessings

Alabama is a beautiful state!
Happy Anniversary! Thanks for sharing your trip! I’m from way up north in Washington State, but live on Puget Sound. I love the water too Suzanne. You’d love it here too I think. We’re smack dab in the middle of the Olympic Mountains and the Cascade Mts. We’re green all the time too! Come visit here someday! 💗🌷💗

Happy Anniversary to you and John! Thank you so much for taking us along on your travels. Such a beautiful place and nothing quite like the sound of the water.
Your tours make me want to visit Fairhope! I have really enjoyed them!🙂❤️
My husband and I were there just the weekend before. It was for work so not a lot of exploring. It was quite beautiful though.
Grand Hotel is around 300 a night in the winter months. Beautiful place with great food. Eat outside overlooking the Bay
Happy Anniversary
Love this trip. We went to NOLA a few years ago. This town does have some of the Cajun character but so much cleaner . And the streets are wider 🙂 We like going to historical towns. That moss in the trees is one of my favs.
Much cleaner than NOLA. It is not one of my favorite places but others love it! This is much smaller and much safer! LOL! Beautiful little town!
Happy Anniversary! Sorry I have been MIA commenting but we have moved from our town home to a one story patio home. Moving is hard when you are in your 60s....glad we made the decision to do it now. We stayed at the Grand for our 25th wedding anniversary, just days before 9-11. Would love to go back!!
Congratulations on your new home! I know I don't want to move again. How would I move all of this junk? LOL! I guess I would get rid of a lot of it for sure!
When you came out of the hotel and pointed down the street, you were on Section St. Section doesn't take you to the bay, Fairhope Ave does. Fairhope has changed alot in my 59 yrs of living here.
Beautiful place!
Beautiful place!! It’s fun “traveling” with y’all! The Grand Hotel is indeed grand! But $900.00 is way above my budget!
We traveled up the coast in October, 2009 and hit all of the New England states. We focused more time in Cape Cod and Nantucket, but enjoyed our stay in Maine, too!
I can't wait to go eastward again!
It's a Horror movie a couple years ago was in fairhope the film "Get Out"...
Be careful about swimming in the bay. There are alligators in there.
This girl is not getting in that water 😂😂😂
