This is the first time I've bought your preprinted panel, tho you have taught me so very much over the years. I'm thrilled to work along with you on this beautiful panel. Looking forward to the mail showing up tomorrow!!!
Your process for trimming the panel works great if a panel was printed on grain. Unfortunately some of the panels I've experienced are printed off grain therfore trimming on grain with the selvages will leave you with a very crooked looking panel picture. I love panels but sometimes they can be very challenging! 😁
I just finished the Help How Do I Quilt it Challenge last week that I purchased ages ago. I absolutely loved working with the panel. So much so, I am now ALL IN for this challenge. I cant wait to get my package of goodies in the mail :-)
Oh wish I had seen these smaller ones and the alternate backing colors! I am overwhelmed by doing that big panel - my machine has abt a 5 inch opening! Wow. The material is beautiful and glad to see it for future use!
I purchased this entire kit, but haven’t been able to get started yet, because I’m trying to fill Christmas rice pillow orders…but I’ll get started right after Christmas!
Hi Angela, Love all your instruction and videos! This is the first actual challenge and borders, excited! However the borders are not lining up according to printed instructions. I think I will have to leave off side borders
OK. I’ve made a decision to try something new. I want to do the feathers on the panel along with the rest of the group, but I also want to do a fairly complex pieced border using the luminous fabric. So,I’m going to load a big back and batting onto my longarm as if I were doing it with the borders already on the panel. Then I can quilt along with everybody else. Later, I will add the pieced borders, stitch them on on the long arm, fold them back and Quilt those separately. It will be interesting to see if this will work since I’ve never tried it before. See, Angela, you are endlessly inspiring me.
Angela, will you be showing how to quilt the border panel sections after you finish the panel interior? My point is, is there a reason to add the border strips (because you will teach how to quilt those unusual areas) ? If not I might use your rainbow prism fabric as a border instead. If you are going to show how to quilt the border sections, I may do both.
Hi! I have watched all challenges but first time I will have an opportunity to participate to one. I am very excited. Unfortunately I can’t purchase the panel althought I like it very much, because the cost of shipping are too high comparing the price of all supplies ( I am not grom USA). I would like to try to quilt on piece of solid. Could You give the weight and lenght of the arms of star. I will know how big the feathers on the middle should be?
Would love to know what kind of batting do you use. I have a hoop frame quilt frame and it's a bit different than a traditional longarm frame but I think I can work on each zone independently. Would love to know your ideas about this. Can't wait for the class :)
Hi, saw that you are having a retreat in April in San Diego. I would love to register, but I live up the road from San Diego, so it's super expensive to pay for a hotel room for several nights when I live practically in the neighborhood. Do you not have any attendance options without hotel requirements attached? Thanks, always love what you teach! :-)
Hi, Angela! This is my first time buying the components for the challenge. I have received the panels and thread. I am now buying yardage for the backing. One question: What do you recommend for batting? Cotton, wool, etc? One or two layers? Thank you!
No, do not prewash the batting, you will have a mess on your hands. I usually do not prewash panels, you will always have a little shrinkage which might distort the squareness of your panel. I think you will be happier waiting til the quilting and binding are done and then you can wash as much as you want.
I was asked how satisfied I am with this notification. I dint know if you see this but I accidently hit dissatisfied. That is not true. I love you and your videos so on the trip to San Diego is it hands on?
Is the fabric collection only available in fat qtrs? What if I want to buy yardage? (And pls fix your website. It is so annoying that every time I try to stretch out a picture to see it better a green screen comes up and blocks out the picture! It’s really difficult to shop on a phone.) Thank you.
Where is the you tube session for making the quilt sandwich? I see the directions that came with the panel, but I thought Angela was giving a session with tips.
Thanks for the video, but I think this would be better if you demonstrated with a real panel in this the video instead of just talking about it. And demonstrated with a wonky panel with an obvious top and bottom. I’ve on seen one person use a panel that was not straight. Everyone picks perfect panels. I did learn a few things. So thank you.
This is two years ago but it refreshes what to do and not to do. Love❤your videos

I just saw luminous rainbow, I need to bind and border everything with it.
Please do a Midnight Quilter Ombre Bargello with your Luminous Rainbow fabric!

Hello Janet, how are you doing?
I will be working on a cutie frame so the centering will be different?

Love to hear more about this !!
Hi, Angela! This is my first time buying the components for the challenge. I have received the panels and thread. I am now buying yardage for the backing. One question: What do you recommend for batting? Cotton, wool, etc? One or two layers? Thank you!
I used frixion pen to mark the sides and cut a single layer. I don’t trust my folding not to shift!😒
In trimming the width, do you want the center of the "star" in the panel center to become the exact center of the trimmed width?
What type of batting do you recommend?
Cotton or Poly/cotton?
Are the fabrics quilting cottons or like the panel fabric?
I'm fairly new at quilting. You spoke about prewashing the fabric - do you ever prewash the batting?
No, do not prewash the batting, you will have a mess on your hands. I usually do not prewash panels, you will always have a little shrinkage which might distort the squareness of your panel. What can I put in to find the glide color chart?
How are you doing Roxanne?
I just received mine today
I'll be doing mine on a longarm.

Thank you
your volume is not very loud
👍❤️😊
