Such a good tutorial. It's concise, relevant and has just the needed tempo. It's clear and presents us lots of hints and technics. And with that, your art is really nice and make it even cooler to watch this tut. Great source of knowledge, inspiration but also motivation for me ! Thank you so much
I just checked out your channel and I found tons of grease pencil tutorials. Thank you for helping me get started in my animation journey!!! You're doing awesome stuff
It looks amazing. For some time I was trying to find the best program to learn simple character animation for a demo of 2d game. Found this one by mistake while looking for a blender grease pencil tutorial for a completely different project. This is exactly what I need, thank you so much!
this is inspiring, im a game dev in training currently, so alot of 3d stuff which i love, but sometimes i feel like i loose sight of the Not simple but the more slow paced side of what animation can be. it looked and felt like a calm experience to me im gonna have to try it out.
@@TeamMiracles I'm just getting started with blender for 2d animation. This tutorial requires a certain level of experience with blender ( I have none) this might be a simple question... but how do you set up your brushes to get the feel you want?
Dang nabbit wish I'd seen this earlier. I was too scared to even begin but you really have to throw yourself into it. I didn't even know blender was free lol!!!
So innovative!!! I would have never thought that Blender, which I use mostly for low-poly models, could be such a valuable asset!! If blender had been developed sooner...who knows how many films we could have been enjoying? anyways, this is sooo amazing, and the fact that you used a brown character as the subject matter is so nice to my heart!!
Thank you so much for making this and posting it! I would never, ever think I could make something this beautiful, but this video showed me that with enough determination, I can!!
Amazing video, this is just what I was looking for. Until now I've used After Effects which has linear interpolation as default setting between key frames. Was looking for that option on Blender too, drawing in Photoshop and importing in the program as you show here. But watching you it's amazing to see how versatile Blender is, surely the best animation software! Great video!
Very awesome work. I'm very new to Blender. If you create a 2d animation. How do you save it, so that you can add it to another 3d background? Like the girl on the hover bike. Once you have animated it you want to place it with a different background. So you can re-use the same animation for a different scene. Do you append it? Do you have a tutorial on something like that?
This is absolutely gorgeous! You've earned a follow on your insta and a subscribe to this channel from me. Quality work there. I'm a product designer with a rudimentary understanding of 3d modelling and simple rendering and the massive domain knowledge that animators like you have in Blender just blows me away each time. It's definitely something to be proud of, and I'm sure was something you worked hard for. Love the work, keep it up Shenuka!
Isn’t ironic how Blender, a 3D program, it’s such a powerful program for 2D animation?
They ARE trying to become a powerhouse for both :)
it's ironic that 2D softwares are not that powerful
And a competent video editor too.
@@fridaylab_studio Ghibli's version of Opentoonz is great though
It's iconic

This is extremely inspiring! I've been focusing on 3d in blender but this is really making me want to try the 2d tools.
I love this. Especially your eye for detail and the calm way to explain everything.
But unfortunately not what I've been looking for, which was to create the same style with 3d objects 😅
this tutorial was as calming as a ghibli film 😌

We don't have a tutorial, but you can render it as PNG sequence with alpha and composite over a separate 3D background.
AWESOME
Thank you! Cheers!
Nicely done! Thank you for the tutorial!
