Yeah but we gotta talk about why not. Can't make the joke about Trump but Trump can make the same joke about other people (on stage!) so why? I think a lot of people ought to think about it. On the very same token, it's weird how the ones that usually hate offensive jokes are so excited over a joke about another attempt on a presidential candidate's life. This kind of hypocrisy goes both ways.
Trump had a good chuckle at Pelosi's husband nearly dying and said the 2nd ammendment people should 'take care' of Clinton. It's not ok for normal people to make jokes about people dying but a President can? They are the real snowflakes. No politics please.
How could he have gotten around this? At the moment of the birthday wish, when asked what he wanted, he could have said "it's already happened" and people would have assumed he meant the show and his life but he and Jack would have known what he REALLY meant. Anyways, this is probably the most human take of it I've heard yet. Hope your weekends a good 'un.😄
Limmy has masively toned down his trolling online now he streams full time. His income is tied to Twitch and he knows how easy it is to get banned so I guess he understands where Jack Black is coming from.
The executive producers of Kung Fu Panda 6 are looking for an edgier, harder line on the failed assassination of Trump. Thank you for your interest though. Please keep in touch.
They were booked to play Rock the Vote gigs, so that kind of comment would be dredged up. Plus, would you feel safe touring when you'll attract the gun loopers to take revenge?
I hope none of your longtime friends stand between you and Kung Fu Panda 6. People used to applaud having guts and sticking by your friends. Maybe he says "you gotta apologize" but dumping on a guy who *did* apologize and acting like it was some ulterior motive to screw Jack Black is a really scummy insinuation. And because of that it's okay that Jack Black kicks his longtime friend to the curb instantly? Nothing to say about him? Nah he's rich gotta protect his money, the most important thing.
always remember how Jack Black had some kind of reputation as a stoner, then went on that getting doug with high show had had the most epic whitey ever...
I was a fan from Day 1, well minus the HBO days. Jack and Kyle were my average Joe, Rock n roll heroes!!!! Sad that Jack sold out for conservatives feelings and establishment politics.
I don't think it's about whether Jack Black approves of it or not, so much as that Kyle did it without any warning or discussion beforehand. Jack must have felt stabbed in the back that he was immediately thrust into a big controversy and expected to say _something_ and either way somebody's gonna have it out for him.
I'm guessing they never had to approve jokes before and were free to speak their own thoughts. Jack black obviously got wind it was a step too far that would affect him career wise.
was it intended as a joke though? or was it a brief detour from the general comedic context of the show, where he was delivering actual political opinions in a slightly off-the-cuff way? i don't think people are saying "that's an inappropriate joke", they're saying "you shouldn't be so casual with your actual political opinions during a comedy show, when those political opinions are so egregious".
I think it was a stupid thing he said without thinking or meaning it at all. But then upon reflection realised some nut case might think he really means it and go and buy a gun to please them.
It was around before Hollywood adopted it. It's called politically correct for a reason. It sort of works in politics at least, but with art it just makes things bland and gentrified.

They've now perversely positioned themselves as the champions of free speech in the last decade. Seems pretty cut and dried that Kyle was in the wrong here and dumped Jack in it. Didn't have much choice after dropping that nonsense on stage with a much higher profile band mate.
it was stage managed. Jack wanted out. Kyle will still get enough retirement money anyway. the fans wont give them hassle about why.. lets get back together and Kyle looks like he died on his sword, with tens of millions in the bank.

Either way I find it near impossible to sympathise with rich people anyway, they live COMPLETELY different lives from normal folk, I care more about cashiers or janitors who get fired for having public opinions online, just like Kyles, than I do for either of them really, cause if you're working those jobs you NEED the money, while both JB and KG only WANT the money.
No janitor is being fired for his tweets rofl
@@roarbertbearatheon8565 So you haven't heard about the nutters on the anti-woke side going around harassing and getting normal workers fired for having their own opinions.
Maybe get up to date on what the extremists are doing, rather than immediately deny something because it is absurd, guess what for extremists the absurd is the mundane.
@@roarbertbearatheon8565 Remember, many American states' labour laws mean you can be fired for no reason, they just invent a reason afterward, it's well known that performance reviews are only used when you want to fire someone.
weird how the ones who claim you can’t make jokes anymore because of “woke” are so up in arms about a joke
@@iSupplanter not like trans people have the highest rate of k word attempts or anything

Both of Tenacious D have always been a couple of smooth brains whenever they're talking about anything but music.
11:09 He even laughs at the things he WOULD have done in fictional scenarios...
Americans are so soft lol.
was it intended as a joke though? or was it a brief detour from the general comedic context of the show, where he was delivering actual political opinions in a slightly off-the-cuff way? i don't think people are saying "that's an inappropriate joke", they're saying "you shouldn't be so casual with your actual political opinions during a comedy show, when those political opinions are so egregious".

Seems pretty cut and dried that Kyle was in the wrong here and dumped Jack in it. Didn't have much choice after dropping that nonsense on stage with a much higher profile band mate.
Tenacious D will be back in 2028. Jack was probably more worried about getting shot.
"This isnae jovial by the way"
it was stage managed. Jack wanted out. Kyle will still get enough retirement money anyway. the fans wont give them hassle about why.. lets get back together and Kyle looks like he died on his sword, with tens of millions in the bank.
limmy seems to have missed the point that Jack Black already laughed about it ON stage... Cannae pretend he didnae through retrospectively condoning his mate.
